Best Free Characters, Shells, and Modules
Getting started in Etheria: Restart can be overwhelming with so many systems to master. Thankfully, the game gives you a solid foundation with four free Union characters and one EOS character right from the start:
Lian, Dorothy, Gray, Cachi, and Sybil
In this guide, we’ll break down their roles, how to build your early team around them, and which Shells and Modules to prioritize for maximum efficiency.
Meet Your Starter Team

Lian (SSR – Main DPS)
Lian is a Reason-element AoE damage dealer who also excels at controlling the turn order by stealing Turn Meter. Her damage scales with the number of buffs she has, making her incredibly effective in buff-heavy teams.
Empyreal Scorch – Level 5
→ Deals 300% AoE DMG with an 80% chance to steal 30% Turn Meter from all enemies.
Key Tip:
Optimize SPD tuning—your support characters should act before Lian so she can receive multiple buffs before her turn.
Even if she’s slower, her Ultimate’s Turn Meter steal helps her catch up in the action cycle.
Gray (SR – Utility Support)
Gray offers strong utility with offensive and defensive support. He boosts allies’ CRIT Rate, applies DEF down to enemies, and gains an extra turn after buffing.
Thunderous Roar – Level 5
→ Grants [CRIT ↑] for 2 turns to all allies
→ Immediately gains an extra turn
Combo Tip:
Gray can follow Skill 2 → Extra Turn → Skill 3, allowing him to buff allies and debuff enemies in one rotation. This maximizes your team’s damage output.
Dorothy (SR – Healer)
A Reliable Constant Healer, Dorothy offers both single-target and AoE healing, with both instant and healing-over-time effects. She scales with ATK, making her healing power dependent on offensive stats.
Build Tip:
Stack ATK on her Modules and upgrade her skills when possible for maximum healing output.
Cachi (R – Utility / Tempo Control)
Don’t underestimate Cachi because of his rarity—he’s loaded with utility. He can:
- Apply AoE control
- Boost Turn Meter
- Grant DMG buffs
- Reduce cooldowns
- Lower enemy Turn Meter
Synergy Tip:
Use Cachi’s Skill 2 to boost Lian, allowing her to act almost immediately with extra buffs for enhanced damage. This creates a powerful momentum swing.
Sybil (R – Not Recommended)
Sybil doesn’t bring enough value to your early team. Skip her in favor of the other four.
Best Early Game Team Composition

Team:
- Lian – Main DPS
- Gray – Support/Buff/Debuff
- Dorothy – Healer
- Cachi – Utility (temporary)
This setup balances damage, healing, and tempo control, making it perfect for early progression

Early on, your Module options will be limited, so use what you can—but make sure Lian gets the [Onslaught] set, which powers up her offensive capabilities.
Onslaught Matrix Effect [4/8/12]: → ATK +45% at max
→ Must equip Onslaught modules to activate the set bonus
Quick Recap: Key Takeaways
- Lian is your main damage dealer. Stack buffs and SPD-tune her teammates accordingly.
- Gray provides reliable buffs, debuffs, and synergy with his extra-turn mechanic.
- Dorothy keeps the team alive with ATK-based healing—scale her appropriately.
- Cachi is a strong temporary pick for boosting tempo and utility—replace him with a better SR later.
