Final Beta Animus Balancing Breakdown
When a game is still in development, it’s not a mountain—it’s a river. Constantly flowing, reshaping, and redefining itself. That’s certainly the case with Etheria: Restart, where the final beta introduced a slew of balancing changes for many SSR and SR Animus. Some are minor tweaks to damage values; others fundamentally shift the way a character functions.
Let’s dive into the full list of changes by character.
SSR Animus Changes
Massiah
Changes: Mixed (Slight nerf to Skill 2, buff to Skill 3)
Skill 2 has been reworked:
- Old: 3 hits of 90% damage with 6% bonus per 1% HP lost by the target.
- New: 3 hits of 100% damage; the final hit deals bonus damage equal to 100% of the target’s lost HP (capped at 350% of Massiah’s ATK).
- Cooldown reduction on upgrades has been removed.
Skill 3 buffed:
- Damage increased from 170% → 180%.
- Now ignores 70% DEF (up from 50%).
Celince
Changes: Kit direction shift and buffs
Skill 1 now refers to Forgetfulness instead of Oblivion.
Skill 2’s Aqua Shield improved:
- Absorption up from 40% → 50%.
- Max HP cap increased to 14% (from 12%).
- Reflect damage boosted to 85% (from 75%).
Skill 3 now applies Forgetfulness instead of Crit Rate Down.
Kloss
Changes: Mixed
Skill 1 chance to inflict Hacking Progress reduced from 80% → 70%.
Skill 2 wording changed: now increases Turn Meter steal by 10% per stack of Hacking Progress (was 20% for every 2 stacks) — buff.
Nerfs:
- Hacking Progress damage taken is now 5% (down from 6%).
- Damage dealt reduction: 10% (down from 12%).
- Hack In effect reduction decreased to 40% (from 45%).
Tiamat
Changes: Mixed
Skill 1: Gains Bloodshed every 13% HP lost (was 12%).
Skill 2: Heal Over Time duration increased to 2 turns.
Skill 3: Taunt chance reduced to 50% (down from 60%).
Ultimate (Skill 4): Damage now scales with 15% of Max HP (up from 13% of Current HP) — a significant buff at low health.
SR Animus Changes
R Animus Changes
No gameplay changes were made to R-rarity Animus, though some skill wording has been updated for clarity.
Final Thoughts
Many of these adjustments reflect an effort by the developers to bring stronger balance across PvE and PvP gameplay. From significant nerfs to over-performing SSR units like Helkid and Veronika, to welcome buffs for accessible characters like Lian and Dorothy, these changes will definitely shake up team-building ahead of launch.
