Helkid Animus Spotlight

Helkid, the Scarlet Iron Veil, stands out as one of Etheria: Restart’s most unique support-DPS hybrids.

He brings a kit that is equal parts survivability, utility, and crowd control, making him a top-tier option for both PvE and PvP. What makes Helkid truly special is his Shroud Barrier mechanic, which provides powerful shielding, built-in immunity to debuffs, and contributes to his offensive power.

In this Article, we are going to be breaking down the best ways to utilize Helkid, and how to gear him for the best possible results.

Skill Analysis

Skill 1: Shadow Brier

Helkid launches dark spikes at a single enemy, dealing 240% damage and has a 50% chance to stun for one turn. If Shroud Barrier is active, the chance to stun increases to 100%.

Skill 2: Crystal Strike

Deals 240% AoE damage and applies a two-turn Attack Down debuff with a 100% chance. If Shroud Barrier is active, Helkid’s damage from this skill increases by 65%.

Skill 3: Shroud Barrier

Deals 3 hits of 110% damage to all enemies and applies Shroud Barrier equal to 280% of Helkid’s attack to all allies. This shield absorbs incoming damage and grants full debuff immunity to anyone under its protection.

Skill Investment Order

Skill 3 should be the top priority:

  • Boosts shield value to 260%, then 280% of ATK.
  • Increases damage multiplier.
  • Reduces cooldown by 1 turn.

Skill 2 is next:

  • Boosts base damage.
  • Increases debuff chance to 100%.
  • Reduces cooldown.

Skill 1 is last:

  • Increases base damage to 240%.
  • Boosts stun chance.
  • Enhances damage if Shroud Barrier is active.

How to Build Helkid

Helkid benefits most from ATK-scaling gear since his Shroud Barrier scales off attack power. Early game builds should aim for high uptime on his barrier and strong AoE presence.

Early Game Sets:

  • Onslaught: +45% ATK.
  • Harvest: +10% ATK and ignores 30% DEF if the enemy is above 50% HP.

Late Game Sets:

  • Furyedge: +12% CRIT Rate, +20% CRIT DMG.
  • Swiftrush: +35 Speed. Ideal if you want him as your opener.

Stat Priorities

Early Game:

ATK% / ATK% / ATK%

If debuff reliability is important:

ATK% / ATK% / Effect ACC

Why ATK?

His damage and shield both scale off ATK, making this his most essential stat. Effect ACC is secondary, useful to ensure the Attack Down and Stun land reliably.

Shell Recommendations

Early Game:

  • Red Comet: +400 ATK before taking action.
  • Tammo Doji (Apate): +600 ATK for 2 turns.

Mid Game:

  • Twilight Knight (Fabian): Deals 170% damage to the lowest-HP enemy and reduces DEF by 50%.
  • Crossroads (Whitney): +800 ATK and 1-turn Life Leech.

Late Game:

  • Count (Asarte): +40% ATK for 2 turns and 3-turn Life Leech. This synergizes with Helkid’s barrier scaling and offers sustain if the barrier is broken or dispelled.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Shroud Barrier provides massive shielding and full debuff immunity to all allies.
  • AoE Attack Down and Stun give great control in both PvE and PvP.
  • Can be built as a durable DPS who still contributes significant utility.
  • Offers unparalleled value without being a Light/Dark unit.

Cons:

  • Vulnerable to shield dispels, which completely remove his core utility.
  • If his barrier is removed, he becomes a glass cannon due to his offensive scaling.
  • Debuff-dependent: Debuffs like Stun or Attack Down cannot be resisted without Effect ACC investment.
