Kazuyo the Reverie Animus Spotlight
Kazuyo the Reverie is one of the few characters in Etheria: Restart who specializes in the Slumber debuff, offering a unique combination of control and damage amplification.
While sleep effects are often niche, Kazuyo leverages them with a powerful passive that prevents enemies from waking up while still allowing her to deal bonus damage. This makes her a strong pick for PvP and certain PvE stages where control is viable.
In this Article, we are going to be breaking down the best ways to utilize Kazuyo the Reverie, and how to gear her for the best possible results.
Skill Analysis

Skill 1 – In Dreams
Kazuyo attacks a single enemy with 2 hits, each dealing 120% damage and having a 30% chance to apply a 2-turn Slumber. Slumber prevents actions, increases damage taken by 25%, and ends only if the target takes damage.
Passive – In Slumber
Attacking enemies under Slumber doesn’t break the effect. Instead, each hit reduces their Strike Prep by 15%. This is massive—it turns sleep into a long-lasting control and damage amplification tool.
Skill 3 – Sink in the Void
Deals 3 hits of 85% damage to all enemies, each hit having a 65% chance to apply Attack Break. If targets are already under Attack Break, there’s a 45% chance to instead inflict Slumber for 1 turn. This creates natural synergy between debuffs and sets up follow-up control.
Skill Investment Order

Skill 3 (Sink in the Void) – Priority 1
- Level 2: Increases Attack Break chance to 65%
- Level 3: Increases Slumber chance to 45%
- Level 4: Reduces cooldown by 1 turn
Passive (In Slumber) – Priority 2
- Increases Strike Prep setback chance and amount (up to 100% chance, 15% setback)
Skill 1 (In Dreams) – Priority 3
Comes last but is still important for Slumber uptime and extra damage:
- Max level adds +2-turn Slumber and boosts the damage multiplier
How to Build Kazuyo the Reverie
![Kazuyo Character Guide! [Builds, Shells, Upgrades, and MORE] Etheria Restart 2-39 screenshot](https://hellhades.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Kazuyo-Character-Guide-Builds-Shells-Upgrades-and-MORE-Etheria-Restart-2-39-screenshot.png)
You can build Kazuyo either as a debuffer or a hybrid damage-dealer depending on content.
Early Game Module Sets:
- Swift Rush (Best-in-slot): +35% Speed – essential from early to endgame.
- Timeweave
- Wellspring
Mid-to-Late Game Sets:
- Swift Smite
If you’re looking to capitalize on her 25% damage amplification and pushback mechanics, a damage-oriented build with some effect accuracy works best.
For PvP-focused players, a heavier investment in effect accuracy and speed supports her crowd control capabilities.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Only character who can sleep enemies without breaking the debuff
- Bonus damage vs. sleeping targets
- Natural synergy between Attack Break → Slumber conversion
- Strike Prep control on passive and active abilities
- Versatile builds: control or burst
Cons:
- Slumber is not effective in boss fights or sleep-immune content
- Loses much of her utility if enemies can’t be slept
- Relies heavily on effect accuracy and turn order
- Requires setup to truly shine (e.g., Attack Break first for AoE Slumber)
