Khloros Animus Spotlight
In Etheria: Restart, some Animus hit hard right out of the gate, while others take time to build into powerhouses. Khloros—the Grim Penalty—is very much the latter. Known for his high-impact ultimate and one of the highest ulting outputs in the game, Khloros thrives in extended fights, slowly building toward overwhelming single-target execution. If you’re looking for a DPS that can snowball into an unkillable menace, Khloros just might be your guy.
In this Article, we are going to be breaking down the best ways to utilize Khloros, and how to gear his for the best possible results.

Skill 1 – Reaping Blade
Khloros swings his scythe for two hits (130% damage each) and has a 50% chance to reduce all enemy skill cooldowns by 1 turn.
- Yes, all enemies.
- This makes him a strong candidate for disrupting enemy rotations, especially when built with accuracy or counter-attack options.
Skill 2 – Fatal Chains
This skill hits three times for 100% damage and applies a unique 3-turn Chain Lock debuff with a 100% chance.
- When Chain Locked, Khloros deals 30% more damage to that enemy and takes 30% less damage from them.
- It turns one-on-one fights into a favorable trade and helps patch up his squishiness.
Skill 3 – Doom’s Resurge
Khloros channels his inner grim reaper for 390% damage and applies Doom Toll.
- When the afflicted target takes 12 hits, the Doom Toll triggers a powerful strike from Khloros.
- It cannot be purified, and only one enemy can have this at a time.
- If the target dies from it, they can’t be revived, and the debuff passes to the enemy with the highest ATK.
Bonus: Every time this ult is triggered, the damage permanently increases by 20%, up to a total of +100%. That’s an enormous payoff in long fights!

Skill 2 – Chain Lock
- Increases buff/debuff potency and duration.
- Key nodes: boost effect values, extend duration, and secure 100% activation rate.
Skill 3 – Doom’s Resurge
- Boosts damage multipliers and permanent scaling value (20% per trigger).
- Important: final node enables Doom Toll’s transfer on death.
Skill 1 – Reaping Blade
- Primarily utility-focused; invest last.
- Final node bumps cooldown reduction chance to 50%.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Scaling Monster – The more he ults, the stronger he becomes.
- Anti-Revive Utility – Great for boss fights and PvP clutch kills.
- Team-Triggered Ultimate – Allies help reach the 12-hit Doom Toll condition.
- Cooldown Reduction – His Skill 1 is fantastic for disrupting enemy rotations.
Cons
- Ramp-Up Required – He needs time and rotations to become truly dangerous.
- PvP Vulnerability – Susceptible to early burst damage and control; often doesn’t get to scale.
- Team-Dependent – Needs comps that can hit often to accelerate Doom Toll triggers.
- Execution Pressure – If he can’t ramp, his biggest threat (anti-revive) might never come into play.
