Obol Animus Spotlight

Obol, the Beacon Conductor, is one of Etheria’s most exciting DoT-focused controllers. Not only can he stack damage-over-time effects across the entire enemy team, but he also converts enemy buffs into DoTs and brings AoE stun utility into the mix. Obol thrives in content that rewards control and persistent damage—making him a go-to pick for PvE waves, Tower, and modes like DokiDoki.

In this Article, we are going to be breaking down the best ways to utilize Obol, and how to gear him for the best possible results.

Skill Analysis

Water Ball (Skill 1)

Hits a single target for 240% damage and has a 40% chance to apply a 2-turn DoT. Since DoT in Etheria scales off enemy max HP, this attack can deal significant value in prolonged fights and scales passively without needing raw ATK stats.

Hydro Beam (Skill 2)

AoE strike that deals 210% damage and converts 2 random buffs into 2 stacks of 1-turn DoT (60% chance). Obol is currently the only unit with buff-to-DoT conversion, turning enemy strengths into ticking liabilities.

Shadow Wave (Skill 3)

Deals 3 hits of 80% damage to all enemies. Each hit has a 75% chance to apply 1-turn DoT and a 30% chance to inflict stun. With multiple hits per target, the stun chance adds up fast, making this a great opener or wave control tool.

Skill Investment Order

Priority Order: Skill 2 → Skill 3 → Skill 1

Skill 2 (Top Priority)

  • Level 2: Damage +190%
  • Level 3: Buff conversion chance +60%
  • Level 4: Damage +210%
  • Level 5: Converts up to 2 buffs

Core to Obol’s identity—maximizing damage and control.

Skill 3 (Second Priority)

  • Level 2: Damage +75%
  • Level 3: DoT chance +75%
  • Level 4: Damage +80%
  • Level 5: Stun chance +30%

This is what gives Obol his crowd control and AoE suppression.

Skill 1 (Last Priority)

  • Level 2: Damage +220%
  • Level 3: DoT chance +40%
  • Level 4: Damage +240%
  • Level 5: DoT duration +2 turns

Solid for sustaining single-target DoTs but less important than his AoEs.

How to Build Obol
