Known as one of the toughest farming bosses in the game, Rengokutsu punishes inconsistency and thrives on RNG, making him both frustrating and rewarding. In this guide, we’ll break down a fast-farming team setup, key stats you’ll need, and shell choices that can carry you through even when things don’t go perfectly.

Rengokutsu isn’t just another dungeon grind. He’s the nastiest boss you’ll need to farm regularly. He punishes slow setups, thrives on RNG, and will absolutely dismantle unprepared teams. Even with perfect strategy, no team boasts a 100% win rate here. Some builds can take three minutes and still fail, while speed teams can clear in under a minute but run the risk of occasional wipes. The key is balance: prioritizing efficiency over perfection so you can churn through runs without losing your sanity.

Not every run has to be perfect. In fact, many players (myself included) will happily take a team that wins 7 out of 10 times if it means farming Rengokutsu in under a minute. Stamina is important, but time is even more valuable. The goal here is to build a team that can clear fast even if it occasionally fails.

The showcased farming team features four key units:

• Kloss: Defense breaker and speed control
• Cachi: Provides stuns and crucial turn meter control.
• Liliam: Main damage dealer with self-buffs and massive nukes.
• Lily: Attack buffer and support.

This composition balances speed, turn control, and burst damage. It isn’t flawless, but when it works, it really works.

Getting the turn order right is essential. If your units aren’t fast enough, the minions or Rengokutsu himself can disrupt your entire run. Here’s the ideal speed tuning:

• Lily: Around 300 speed. Doesn’t need to be crazy, but consistency matters.
• Kloss: Must be 280+. Anything lower and the side minion will cut in, adding unnecessary RNG.
• Cachi: Around 264+ speed. Faster is even better to maximize stuns and turn meter control.
• Liliam: Focused on damage, but speed should still allow her to synergize with the team’s rotation.

If you miss these thresholds, expect to see failed runs purely because of bad turn order.

Shells make or break this fight, and Rengokutsu demands specific tools:

• Kloss: Codex is best for unskilled copies. With full skill upgrades, Dark Moon or Halloween Shell become great alternatives.
• Lily: Needs the Artisan shell, mandatory for this dungeon’s PvE scaling.
• Cachi: Also runs Codex. Speed and accuracy substats are key.
• Liliam: Flexible, either White Fang for raw burst or Count for extra healing and attack scaling. Both perform similarly in testing, so use what you have.

If you’re clearing in 53 seconds with occasional failures, that’s still more efficient than a “safe” 3-minute build. The key is not to panic. Accept that Rengokutsu will sometimes go berserk and wipe you, then queue up another run.

Rengokutsu is brutal, but with the right speed-tuned team, you can farm him in under a minute consistently enough to keep your shells rolling. Liliam, Kloss, Cachi, and Lily make a deadly combo when supported with the right shells and stat lines.
