Celince: Utility Powerhouse in Etheria
When Etheria: Restart launched, Celince didn’t exactly make waves. Often labeled as weak or underwhelming, many players dismissed her as a benchwarmer. But recently, more players (especially in the high-end PvE scene) are discovering that Celince might be one of the most valuable defensive supports in the game.
The Hidden Power of Shields
Celince’s entire kit revolves around one simple thing: survivability. At first glance, her passive shielding seems modest—just a 10% HP shield based on her own HP each turn. But in practice, this adds up to massive value across multiple turns of combat. Once she’s ascended and equipped with HP-boosting gear and modules, this shield becomes a major defensive layer for your entire team.
In fact, once Celince hits around 30,000 HP, her shields can block upwards of 6,000–7,000 damage per turn. When combined with other support units like Valerian (who also provides shielding and regen) the result is near-constant uptime on mitigation, especially in damage-over-time (DoT) heavy encounters like Sharon and DokiDoki.
Forgetfulness is Game-Changing in DokiDoki
Where Celince really shines is in the DokiDoki boss fight. Her key debuff, Forgetfulness, not only reduces enemy attack (a huge survivability boost) but also disables enemy passives. This is critical for bypassing DokiDoki’s damage reduction mechanic. With Forgetfulness applied, the boss loses its tankiness, allowing your team to land full-damage hits.
Even if you bring an unascended, underleveled Celince into DokiDoki, just landing her S2 (Forgetfulness) can shift the battle in your favor. In turn-based gacha titles like Etheria, bringing characters who can directly counter boss mechanics is more valuable than raw stats, and Celince fits that niche perfectly.
Shields, Debuffs, and Scaling Potential

Her kit also includes single-target skills that inflict either Forgetfulness or Silence, both of which count as CC and allow you to disable annoying passives. On top of that, her kit naturally complements fast-turn cycling teams. With enough speed investment, Celince can refresh her shield over and over, effectively negating incoming chip damage or DoTs.
And the best part? She does this all without being built. Even a level 11 Celince with no ascensions can survive Hell 3 and even contribute to Hell 4 clears—something few SSRs can claim
A Surprising Standout for PvE
Celince’s synergy with defensive teams also means you can often drop a healer altogether. With Valerian and Celince rotating shields and bringing sustain through utility, many teams may find they can free up a slot for more damage or debuffs.
And it’s not just DokiDoki—she’s viable in Sharon too. In any content where enemies rely on DoTs or lack burst damage, Celince can act as a soft counter by mitigating the bulk of incoming pressure. Her shielding turns damage over time into no damage at all.
Underrated, But Not for Long
Celince is a perfect example of a character whose impact goes beyond stats. She scales well with HP, is team-flexible, and brings utility that can bypass core boss mechanics. If you have her and she’s sitting in your storage, it’s time to reconsider. Even without full investment, Celince is already showing value across multiple pieces of content, and with more HP and skill ups, she could become one of your strongest PvE enablers.
She may have been overlooked at launch, but players are finally waking up to just how cracked Celince really is.
