The Best Animus’ for Etheria: Restart Beta

It’s finally here—after two full betas, a barrage of buffs and nerfs, and a whole host of new characters entering the fray, we’ve got the most comprehensive Animus Tier List yet for Etheria: Restart! Whether you’re diving into the final beta or preparing for the global release, this guide is designed to give you clarity on one crucial question: which characters are worth your investment? We’re focusing on overall value with a slight lean towards PvE, simply because that’s where most content resides.

So, let’s break it all down—who’s on top, who’s dropped, and who’s rising from the shadows. Get ready, because this update is massive.

Tier Definitions: Know What You’re Getting Into

Before we dive into the rankings, let’s set the stage with the tier breakdown:

  • Double S (SS): Cream of the crop. Top-tier investment, massive PvE and PvP impact, and versatility across content.

  • S Tier (S): Excellent performers with strong utility, but may be outclassed in certain areas or face content-specific drawbacks.

  • A Tier: Solid choices—especially useful if you don’t have top-tier alternatives. Can carry you far with the right setup.

  • B Tier: Niche or situational picks. Can shine in specific roles but generally not worth prioritizing early.

  • C Tier: Only invest if you’ve maxed everything else or just want to experiment.

Double S Titans: Best Investments in Etheria: Restart

Let’s kick off with the characters that sit firmly at the top.

Lian continues to dominate with cleave damage, turn cycling, and synergy with the resource-generating Hyperlink Charter. She’s a no-brainer pick for both PvE and PvP.

Tiamat remains broken in the best way. Her supposed nerfs actually made her better thanks to boosted healing and a ridiculously powerful dragon form. She’s your go-to AoE nuker, tank, and taunter rolled into one.

Gray—the freebie that keeps on giving. His kit is streamlined for success with built-in crit, bonus turns, and a brutal defense break that makes your entire team hit harder.

Chiaki the Echo and Lily earn their Double S stripes with some of the best turn meter manipulation and skill cooldown tech in the game. Their team utility is just unmatched.

Beyontin got a massive glow-up—now considered the AoE revive queen and damage amp support. If you’re sleeping on her, you’re missing out.

Helkid, Heinrich, Lingluo, and Sania all continue to provide top-tier survivability, control, healing, and revive mechanics, locking them into must-have status.

Shifts and Shakeups: Who Moved Up or Down

Several notable changes reflect recent balance adjustments:

  • Lilith drops from Double S to S Tier due to late-game damage falloff and reduced CC impact on bosses.

  • Kloss loses ground to Freya, who now offers more consistent and scalable team-wide support.

  • Veronika moves to S tier—still potent thanks to buff spreading and death prevention, but no longer as oppressive.

  • Kraken and RC-77 get bumped up—Kraken’s [Freeze] is the strongest CC in the game, and RC-77’s debuff arsenal is PvE gold.

  • Victor rises to the top ranks thanks to his HP-scaling burst potential and insane self-sustain.

Newcomers Worth Watching: Final Beta Debuts

Several new units made their debut in the latest beta—and some are immediate standouts:

  • Freya is a must-have limited banner unit. Between turn meter manipulation, healing, and a debuff/buff engine that scales your entire team, she’s a Double S monster.

  • Rosa earns Double S status too, but be warned: she’s gear-dependent. With the right setup, she becomes a game-breaking carry.

  • Rilmocha impresses with her AoE splash damage, kill resets, and built-in sustain. One of the best PvE nukers we’ve seen yet.

  • Mia is the shadow of Lingluo—less of a must-build due to her overlap, but unique damage reduction mechanics earn her Double S as well.

And don’t sleep on Marvell, the only unit in the game who can reduce resistance—a critical endgame utility, especially in PvP.

Falling Stars: The C Tier Warning Zone

Not every unit survived the rebalancing. Characters like No.41 and Asshu now sit in C tier—too niche or outclassed by stronger alternatives. Only build these if you’re really experimenting or min-maxing late game.

Hidden Gems and Rising Underdogs

  • Dinah and Obol were bumped up thanks to massive debuff synergy. Dinah’s [Erosion] mechanics scale team damage like crazy.

  • Dorothy the Wisher brings crit-scaling buffs, purifies, and turn meter ramping— S Tier status confirmed.

  • Rin the Unbowed and Tsutomu are finally getting recognition for their single-target utility and scaling potential.

  • Diting might surprise you with top-tier nuking ability—if you like your damage big and focused, this guy delivers.

Unranked: The Curious Case of Hoyan

Hoyan in Etheria Restart

If you’re wondering why Hoyan is missing—it’s because she was removed from the game for a rework. Formerly the strongest damage dealer in the game, her return could shake up the entire meta. Stay tuned!

Final Thoughts: What Should You Do Next?

This tier list is a deep dive into the current state of Etheria: Restart, with a clear focus on investment value. Whether you’re aiming to reroll for launch or looking to optimize your beta roster, prioritize your Double S and S Tier characters—but don’t ignore rising A-tier stars with niche utility.

The game’s complexity is part of its charm—and as we inch closer to launch, expect further shifts and new faces to stir things up again.
