Wyrm Reason Boss Guide
Wyrm Reason is one of five Union Bosses that you will face in Etheria: Restart, which serve as the game’s Clan Boss in essence.
The Wyrm Bosses are a Union-wide progression boss, where you will gain more rewards based on the damage you deal to it.
An extremely dangerous Meltdown creature born from the Turbulent Stream of Etherons. Empowered by special Reason particles, it possesses strength that exceeds all limits, bringing forth a calamity from which no one can escape.
In this guide, we will break down Wyrm Reason’s Skills, how to face this encounter, and recommend what we would consider an ideal progression team to help you along the way.
Wyrm Hollow Skills

Self-Upgrade
For every 2 skills Wyrm uses, gains 1 stack(s) of [Self-Upgrade].
How to beat Wyrm Hollow

This version of the Wyrm Union Boss leans into attrition over burst. Instead of nuking you outright, it ramps up pressure by stacking [Burn], a unique mechanic that punishes slow teams and forces you to play a speed game. Your score still comes from how many full HP bars (out of 100) you can burn through, and while this is the easiest boss of the Union cycle, don’t let your guard down—mismanaging [Burn] stacks can spell disaster. SSS starts at 80 clears and above, but building a fast, efficient team is more important than raw power.
[Burn] is the defining mechanic of this fight. The boss applies 6 stacks of [Burn] with both its first and third skills, and each stack causes 120% ATK damage over time. More importantly, [Burn] stacks dramatically increase the damage of the Wyrm’s fourth skill, which ignores 10% of your defense by default, plus 10% for every [Burn] stack on each hero individually. That means failure to manage [Burn] can lead to 120% defense ignore per unit—a guaranteed wipe.
To make things worse, [Burn] cannot be dispelled, blocked, or immunized. The only way to remove stacks is by taking turns: each unit loses 2 stacks at the start of their turn. So the name of the game is speed—the faster you rotate, the less [Burn] you take, and the less defense the boss shreds through. Long fights are dangerous due to the boss’s passive scaling with time [Self Upgrade], so this becomes a battle of efficiency over endurance.
The top-performing strategy focuses on fast single-target damage dealers supported by debuffers and speed manipulators. Rosa is a standout DPS due to her Odd affinity, which grants bonus damage from the boss’s passive. She’s made for fights like this. Khloros is another elite pick, offering strong neutral-element single-target pressure over time. While Massiah and Diting can still do the job, Rosa and Khloros outperform thanks to their tempo and affinity synergy.
For support, Kloss brings a triple threat of [DEF-], [SPD-], and her unique [Hacking Progress] debuff that reduces the boss’s outgoing damage and boosts your own. She is weak element here, so she might struggle in higher tiers, but her utility is worth the risk in early stages. Alternatives include Dinah, who brings [DEF-] and [Vulnerable], or RC-77, the evergreen toolbox with [ATK-] and [DEF-]. These debuffs are essential to soften the boss’s strikes and increase your own output.
To maintain speed and remove [Burn] stacks, rotators are non-negotiable. Lily is a top-tier pick with [SPD+] and follow-up attacks. Kazami Kazuyo provides [SPD+] and cooldown reduction. Even Mio can serve in a pinch. If you’re light on options, Chiaki the Echo or DokiDoki can fill support roles, though Chiaki is a weak element here and better reserved for early runs.
Healing is optional but smart. Lingluo is an excellent support, extending buffs and offering healing that scales with your team’s HP. Paired with Chiaki (Reason) and her [Origami Guardian] damage reduction, you can create a very safe core for prolonged fights.
In short, Reason is a boss that punishes inaction and rewards high turn rotation. Stack speed buffs, apply [ATK-] and [DEF-], and use Odd-element DPS like Rosa to hit hard. If you’re clearing [Burn] fast, you’re surviving longer—and if you’re surviving longer, you’re climbing higher. With the right balance of speed, damage, and debuff control, Tier 100 is well within reach.
