Beginner Blueprint & Early Progression Guide
Diving into Etheria: Restart for the first time—or returning after a break? This guide lays out a step-by-step approach to help you build a powerful account, avoid early mistakes, and make the most of limited resources.
Understanding Returner Buffs and When to Start Fresh
If you’re a returning player, it’s important to know that returner bonuses only activate if your account had reached level 30 before you stopped playing. Many players miss this detail and end up wondering why they didn’t receive the boost. If your old account is below level 30, you’re better off starting from scratch. A fresh start means access to all beginner bonuses, a more optimized pull sequence, and better progression opportunities long-term.
The Hyperlink Charter is Your Compass

The Hyperlink Charter is more than a tutorial—it’s your primary roadmap through early- and mid-game progression. From clearing Terrormaton and Module thresholds to finishing story content and Animus Fates, the Charter points you toward efficient gameplay and maximum resource gain.
Instead of jumping ahead or farming content randomly, focus entirely on the current mission listed in the Charter. If you’re ever unsure what to do next, check the Charter. Only when you’ve exhausted all possible Charter tasks should you farm resources or gear. This keeps your stamina economy tight and progression fast.
Summoning Strategy: What to Pull and When

One of the biggest early mistakes new players make is pulling on the wrong banners. While multiple banners will be available—including limited ones like Freya or Plume—the safest and most effective place to start is the Permanent Summon banner.
This banner gives access to the full pool of characters, including LDs (Light/Dark units), which makes it invaluable for account building. Hold onto Target Summon tickets for later, when you need a specific unit to complete a strategy or cover a weakness. While tempting, using them too early can backfire if your team composition isn’t ready.
High-Value Units for Reroll or Early Pulls

If you’re rerolling or just starting out, some units stand far above the rest. Yeli is a top choice thanks to her buffed damage, reliable follow-ups, and built-in debuffing. She’s excellent for solo-carrying early content and transitions well into PvP.
Plume offers unique scaling via her “Cursed Quill” effect, stacking debuffs that cannot be purified or transferred. Her kit strips buffs, inflicts defense down, and lowers enemy damage—all while fueling your team’s turn meter with her passive.
Lily, another standout, is one of the best cooldown manipulators in the game. She grants allies follow-ups, pushes turn meters, and resets cooldowns entirely for units marked with Twin Trick. This allows your strongest units to open every fight at full strength.
Each of these characters sets a solid foundation, but which one you use will depend on what you pull naturally and how your selector tickets play out.
Building Your Early Team

Once you’ve secured a few key units, your team should focus on core utility—turn meter control, defense down, healing, and multi-hitting. Characters like Lian (used in Animus Fate quests) should be invested into early for lattice missions. Dorothy provides decent healing, while Gray supports your damage dealers by lowering crit rate requirements and offering defense break.
Swapping in stronger units like Lily, Yeli, or Plume as soon as they’re available will help you steamroll early content like GP Outpost, Shell Thresholds, and Doki Doki. Flexibility is key, especially if you don’t yet have gear to support a fast-clearing team.
Lattice & Skill Investment Advice

The first Perfect Lattice should usually go to Lian, as it’s tied to early Charter tasks and unlocks significant progress. Gray is another worthwhile early investment with Evolution Lattice, but you’ll likely reset him later.
Skill materials are limited, so don’t waste them on low-tier units unless they’re core to your early strategy. Fortunately, Animus Reconfigure events allow you to reset units for free within a time window—use this to transfer investments from Lian or Gray to stronger characters like Lily or Plume once your team develops.
Efficient Resource Spending & Refills

Using Hydra Crystals to refill stamina is standard practice. You can safely refill up until level 55 without running into major diminishing returns. Most early players benefit from fast-tracking stamina gains to unlock more content and farm shells, modules, and lattice mats.
However, avoid dumping crystals into LD banners unless you’re prepared—they cost 3× more per pull than regular banners. If you’re chasing a specific LD unit like Yeli or Valerian, make sure you’re aware of the increased cost and plan your summons accordingly.
What Content to Push and When

Your priority should always be to unlock and complete chapters quickly. Getting to Chapter 6 opens PvP modes, where you’ll earn materials required for SSR skill-ups and other essentials. GP Outpost should be pushed as far as your current level allows—higher stages give significantly better drops.
When gear farming begins, start with manageable stages. Don’t jump into Normal 3 right away without checking your unit stats. Instead, go through the story, farm early modules, and slowly scale up your thresholds for Terrormaton and DokiDoki. Gear your core five units gradually and adjust builds based on your account’s unique pull history.
Final Thoughts: Stay Flexible, Play Smart
Etheria: Restart rewards players who plan ahead and adapt. The best progression comes from balancing core team development, Charter mission completion, and strategic resource spending.
Keep your expectations realistic and avoid overinvesting early. You’ll likely get stronger units as you go—and with free resets available during events, you won’t be punished for building smart placeholders like Lian, Gray, or Vice.
Lastly, don’t underestimate how powerful Lily, Plume, and Yeli can be when built early. They offer self-sufficiency, multi-role value, and dominance across PvE and PvP. Whether you’re re-rolling or just getting lucky, build around your SSRs and enjoy the ride.
