Developer Q&A Panel Breakdown – July 7, 2025
After the third official Hyper Talk episode, the Etheria: Restart development team held an open Q&A panel featuring Game Director Jack, Community Manager Chris, and content creators Volkin, SeanB, and Jenazad. This session provided valuable insights into the current state of the game, including its direction, upcoming features, and community-driven feedback.
This included the announcement that the Blessing Galore Event will return on July 12th, and will return every 4-5 weeks or so thereafter.
Major Player Concerns: Difficulty, Gear Manamgenent and Economy
All three creators shared deep praise for the game’s strategic depth and PvP/PvE balance—but also expressed concerns:
- Volkin emphasized the need for better gear management and turn order features to support team building.
- SeanB raised concerns about the in-game economy, especially how hard it is to build secondary teams without excessive grinding or spending.
- Jenazad pointed out that high difficulty, paired with limited silver and tedious gear swapping, creates FOMO and burnout, especially for casual players.
The devs acknowledged these points and confirmed that improvements to team presets, resource farming, and drop rates are underway.
Upcoming Features: Team Loadouts, PVP Sets, and Shell Drop Improvements
Jack confirmed two major quality-of-life features in development:
- Team Presets with Gear/Shell Loadouts – Players will be able to assign full module and shell setups to teams, greatly easing gear management between PvE modes.
- Dedicated PvP Gear Sets – Separate PvP and PvE loadouts will prevent conflicts between content types and simplify arena management.
Additionally, the devs are working on a pity system for Shell drops and a new “Training Data Shell” to make gold Shells more rewarding. This currency can be sold for extra resources and will help soften the frustration of unlucky drops.
New Animus: Fuqui and Nahor

The panel offered first impressions of the two upcoming SSR units launching July 10:
Fuqui is a tactical support unit with turn-meter control, healing, and shielding. Her Moonlight Veil mechanics make her a viable alternative to Lily for PvE and PvP team tempo management.
Nahor introduces the game’s first all-buff strip and combines [DEF-] and [Freeze] in a single AoE, making him ideal for both DokiDoki Inferno and PvP lockdown strategies.
The creators agreed that both characters would bring significant value and encourage alternative team-building paths.

Dreamscape Event and Rewards Philosophy
The developers revealed a new PvE event: Dreamscape, where players navigate mazes and encounter a rotating elemental boss known as the Dreamweaver.
The event introduces a “safe” portal for consistent rewards and a “risky” one that can multiply rewards—but with potential loss.
Jack confirmed this will be Etheria’s most rewarding event yet, directly addressing past feedback that prior events were either too difficult or lacked impactful rewards.

PVP Systems: RTA, Fearless Arena and Reward Resets
The panel ended with detailed feedback on PvP:
- RTA (Real-Time Arena) was praised for its depth and strategy, but many players felt unmotivated to continue past 20 wins due to limited participation rewards.
- Fearless Arena was appreciated for its generous rewards, with suggestions to experiment with mode restrictions (e.g. “No SSR” weeks).
- Etherena drew criticism for expensive shop prices and limited accessibility for casual players.
In response, Jack confirmed the RTA season length will be shortened from 12 to ~8 weeks, with better reward cadence. Future improvements to weekly task resets and shop pricing are under consideration.
Banner Cadence and Character Variety
Jack confirmed that banner releases will now follow a more consistent 3-week rotation, avoiding back-to-back Light/Dark SSR releases. He also emphasized a desire to support SR character development, with new SR units planned in future banners to help F2P players round out their teams.
Final Thoughts
The session ended on a high note, with the creators praising the dev team for their transparency and willingness to receive tough feedback. Etheria: Restart has had a fast and rocky launch, but the roadmap ahead is filled with meaningful updates that address long-standing frustrations.
