Ultimate Beginner Guide Part 4
If you’re pushing through Etheria: Restart and finding yourself in the level 30+ range, you’re likely hitting that point where the early game freebies slow down and actual decisions start to matter. That’s where this guide comes in. In this breakdown, we’re diving deep into mid-game progression for free-to-play (F2P) players—covering everything from stamina efficiency to shell optimization, prowess upgrades, and the best way to plan your next hero builds.
Let’s talk strategy, momentum, and how to keep that game flow tight without burning out.
Welcome to the Midgame – Prioritizing Progress Over Perfection
Around levels 30–33, you’ll find yourself juggling resource efficiency, gear drops, and shell farming. This is where balance really matters.
Even though you may still have stamina left to spend each day, it’s easy to lose progress by hitting the cap accidentally—especially if you log in too late. Don’t let that stamina overflow go to waste! Set reminders or log in just enough to stay efficient.
The goal here isn’t to rush blindly toward late-game sets but to maintain momentum. Equip what’s good and keep moving. Don’t stall just because you’re missing one gold piece or the perfect set synergy.
Gear Up Smart – Stats Over Sets Early On

At this stage, chasing complete Matrix sets can be a trap. Instead, focus on gear that rolls well—stats like speed, crit damage, or HP/defense depending on the unit’s role.
For example, Dorothy doesn’t need a full set bonus right now—just stack her with attack-stat gear that supports her healing prowess. If a piece rolls well (think attack + speed + crit), it’s worth keeping even if it breaks the set.
Start upgrading to purple gear once you unlock the Nightmare versions of bosses like DokiDoki. Speed, Bramble (defense), Unbreakable (flat def), and Harvest (ignore HP shields) all begin to drop here. Don’t overspend stamina chasing perfect rolls—just aim to improve gradually.
Six is the Magic Number – Focus on Your Core Team

Build out a team of five to six solid characters. Anything beyond that should be account-changing level value. This means that unless the unit brings something significantly better to the table, stick to your core.
Lian and Tiamat are strong F2P picks you can choose early. Gray is another standout as a buffer/damage hybrid and RC-77 has all your fundamental progression debuffs (Attack down, Def down and debuff extension).
Shell Strategy – Stop at Cap, Don’t Over farm
Shells are a huge part of stat progression. Most shells cap around level 30 early on, and that’s where you should pause. Future content introduces better shells with triple stats, so no need to go overboard now.
Recycle bad shells regularly to keep shell currency flowing. Same with modules—don’t hoard junk. Sell it, farm the currency, and upgrade wisely.
Prowess Progression – Your Real Power Source

Achievements are a goldmine for currency and prowess growth. Focus on completing them through natural gameplay—PvE progression, PvP wins, farming shells, or spending anima. Always check the development and collection tabs for easy rewards.
Key tip: The Anima system (and the AniSync module) is one of the most overpowered progression tools. Use it regularly. It not only boosts exp and rewards but helps you unlock prowess upgrades for free. Push through each stage to collect your summons, shards, and free resources.
Character Build Priorities – Who Comes First?

Build Dorothy first. She’s your F2P carry through early to midgame—her healing and utility are top-tier and essential for hitting key milestones.
If you do have Kraken, max him ASAP. His frozen-lockout kit is broken in both PvE and PvP. With a speed shell that ramps his turn meter and prowess upgrades that push back enemy turns and freeze them, Kraken can solo-carry difficult content like DokiDoki.
After that, tailor your builds based on elemental counters or needs. If you need single target damage consider bringing in Victor. RC77 has good utility as well with the debuffs they bring. Rin can hinder any Grim Pursuit boss with there taunt based kit.
Cubic Game – Mini-Mode, Massive Gains

Cubic Game might sound silly, but it’s one of Etheria: Restart’s best grind-free modes. Strategically placing training cubes to hit 3-stars grants you stamina-free gear, summon currency, and enhancement materials. You’ll need to think through placement and adjacency bonuses, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a low-effort, high-reward activity that should be on your regular checklist.
PvP – Do It Daily, Win or Lose

Don’t sleep on PvP. Even if you lose some matches, the system does a great job putting beatable teams in front of you. PvP wins bring in currency, shards, and sometimes anima, which all funnel back into your overall progress.
Just remember: the earlier you start, the easier it is to stay competitive. Even 3-5 wins a day go a long way.
Summons, Dupes, and Victory

A few lucky summons can really smooth out your climb. In this session, a Kraken dupe, Dinah, and a few Dorothy dupes hit our account hard in a good way. Dupes matter—especially for enhancing skills and unlocking passive boosts.
Don’t chase too hard, though. Use your currency smartly. Save those perfect anima crystals and summon tokens for banners with long-term value.
Final Thoughts – Flow Like a Pro
The key takeaway here is game flow. Know where you’re headed, understand the systems, and build incrementally. Don’t get stuck trying to perfect one piece of gear or one character right away. Move forward, fill in the blanks, and let the game reward your consistency.
You’re not just grinding—you’re mastering Etheria: Restart’s systems step by step.
