Gear Ascension Tournament Is Live!
A new type of Tournament has launched in Raid, focused on Gear Ascension by farming Oils and Extracts from the Sand Devil and Phantom Shogun dungeons. Including the Shogun in a tournament is something players have been waiting for, finally offering rewards for farming this dungeon alongside the Sand Devil to enhance gear across their account. Let’s dive into the point requirements, available rewards, and the average number of runs and energy needed to hit those milestone goals!

A new type of Tournament has arrived in Raid for you to test your might! The Gear Ascension Tournament is all about raiding the Sand Devil’s Necropolis and Phantom Shogun’s Grove, earning as many Oils & Extracts as possible, and winning amazing rewards. The better the type of Oils and Extracts, the more Points you get!
Note: this Tournament is only available to players who are level 38 and above.
The first Gear Ascension Tournament will start at 11:00 UTC, Thursday, April 3, and will run until 11:00 UTC, Sunday, April 6. Make sure to check out the Tournament window to find out how the Points will work this time for this new type of Tournament.

POINTS BREAKDOWN
To break down the rules of the Tournament simply: you’ll need to farm Oils and Extracts from either the Sand Devil or Phantom Shogun dungeons to earn points toward rewards and climb your Tournament bracket leaderboard. The higher the tier of Oils and Extracts you collect, the more points you’ll earn! Let’s take a look at how many points you’ll receive for the Oils and Extracts you get.
OIL
- Lesser – 3
- Greater – 6
- Superior – 9
EXTRACT
- Lesser – 3
- Greater – 8
- Superior – 11
The total points you earn will vary from run to run, depending on the amount and type of Oils or Extracts you receive. That said, for energy efficiency, it’s best to farm stages above 23 in each dungeon, with stage 25 offering the most optimal point returns. The more Oils and Extracts you get per run, the more points you’ll earn – helping you reach milestone rewards faster and stay competitive in your tournament bracket.
If we take stage 25 as the most optimal to farm across both dungeons, let’s break down the average number of runs you can expect to complete to reach the top milestone rewards – keeping in mind the average type and quantity of Oils or Extracts you’ll receive based on drop rates.
SAND DEVIL

Phantom Shogun

From this average, it’s clear that the most energy efficient way to max out your rewards is by farming stages of the Phantom Shogun.
