HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED TEAM IN RAID: SHADOW LEGENDS

The Basics

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of the team compositions and how to build a team, the first thing you need to understand is what kind of team you need and if there are any special requirements or unique skills that will help you during the battle in the Dungeons, Doom Tower, Clan Boss, and Arena!

For example, for the Spirit Keep boss, you will need to bring a heal reduction champion as she heals herself massively from one of her abilities.

Likewise, if you fight the Fire Knight boss you need to bring champions that hit multiple times to bring down his shield.

You can find out what each boss does on the drop-down tab for Raid: Shadow Legends on the website.

Starting to build your team

If you are struggling to beat a stage, it is mostly because you have too many damage dealers in your team and not enough support champions. If you bring five damage dealers into the dragon’s lair at a high level, they will not have enough sustainability to survive. And another side of that is, if you don’t bring enough damage you will never get past the waves, if by chance you do, it will take a long time!

So, how do you build the right team?

Building your team

A general rule of thumb is that in a five champion team you should aim to bring:
2 damage dealers
1 support/control champion
1 debuff champion
and a reviver!

Of course, you don’t necessarily need to bring a revive champion, you can bring another damage dealer but in order to make sure you beat the levels this is a solid composition.

For example, my go-to team for clearing waves is:
2 Royal Guards
Dracomorph
Bad-el-Kazar
and Arbiter

Now, of course, I am fully aware you may not have all or some of these champions.

Draco brings poisons, defense down, and weaken – He’s our Debuffer
Bad-el-Kazar brings heals, a debuff cleanse, and poisons – He’s our Support
Arbiter brings small heal, turn meter boost and revive – Our Revive champion
Royal Guard brings the AOE nuke for the waves and bosses – Our damage dealers

An early/free to play version of this team could be:
Kael (damage)
Warmaiden (debuffer)
Reliquary Tender (reviver)
Apothecary (turn meter, speed, and heals)
and Spirithost (Support)

On our website we have a great tool that can help you build your team, the Faction Wars tier list. In this tool, we have the best champions for each faction, listed and what they excel at. You can go through this and see what team you can put together with the champions you have.

What is your go-to team for the different areas of the game? Let us know in the comments, we love to hear from you!!!

I tend to go for a defense based team that still can dish out some damage. My go to for dungeon content and waves is Tayrel, Rhazin, Deacon, Scyl, and Seer.
