How to build a Clan Boss champion in RAID: Shadow Legends

Spacer

In this article, we are going to demonstrate how to approach building a Clan Boss Champion in Raid: Shadow Legends!

In order to build a clan boss champion, we need to identify what we are looking for in order to pick the right one.

So, to start with for a solid Clan Boss Team in early to mid game you are looking for a poisoner, decrease attack (big version) and decrease defence (big version).

These abilities bring the maximum survivability and damage to your clan boss team.

For example, in early (and even late game) poison will deal more damage to the clan boss than most attacks because poison will damage based on the enemies max HP.

Decrease Attack will stop the clan boss hitting as hard so your team will survive more attacks and be able to inflict more damage.

Decrease defence will lower the clan bosses defence so your team will be able to hit the clan boss with less resistance resulting in more overall damage.

Rowan

Rowan is a rare case. In this instance you might actually want to consider looking for flat stats more than a defence % because her base defence is so low that the flat stat may give more defence but have a look at the stats see judge it yourself!

We will start with the Jewellery in this build as it gives us a good indication of how the stats will pan out at the end.

Ring – Primary stat will be defence flat stat. Secondary stat you are looking for HP% and defence %.
Amulet – Primary stat will be defence. The Sub stat you are looking for is accuracy.
Banner – Primary stat will be Accuracy. The Sub stats you are looking for are speed, defence and hp.

You want to be building your champion in life-steal gear as this will allow your champion to stay alive longer vs the clan boss, as your champion will gain hp for the amount of damage distributed onto the clan boss. With the other remaining set try and build a speed set to gain their bonuses as this will also allow your Rowan to put as many poisons on as she can before the clan boss kills her.

Next, we will do the bottom row of artifacts as they give very generous Primary stats which will help our champion get the desired stats we are looking for.

Boots – Primary stat is speed. The sub stats you are looking for are accuracy and defence.
Chest – Primary stat will be defence% or HP%. The sub stats you are looking for are accuracy and speed.
Gloves – Primary stat will be defence% or HP%. The sub stats you are looking for will be speed and accuracy.

Finally the top row of artifacts, the ones where we focus on finalise the finishing touches of our builds using the sub stats

Fill the criteria ASDD! Get accuracy, speed and defence. Don’t worry about the damage as this will come from your poisons. So don’t be looking for crit damage or attack. Just make sure you have enough accuracy to land the poison debuffs and enough speed so your Rowan gets enough turns to land as many poisons as she can.

Masteries

  • Pinpoint accuracy
  • Charged focus
  • Swarm smiter
  • Heart of glory
  • Arcane celerity
  • Lore of steel
  • Sniper
  • Master hexer
  • Cycle of magic
  • Deadly precision
  • Keen strike
  • Single out
  • Bring it down
  • Kill streak
  • Giant slayer

So, now that we have looked at early/mid game builds, let’s take a look at how a late-game build may look.

Sepulcher Sentinel

For Sepulcher Sentinel we need accuracy to apply attack down on the clan boss, so we are going to follow the ASDD guide still in that order.

We will list all the primary stats as the secondary stats are similar to the Rowen build.

Banner – Primary stat is accuracy
Amulet – Defence or if you have high crit rate from sub stats and enough defence then you can push crit damage.
Ring – Primary stat is defence

Boots – Primary stat is speed
Chest – Primary stat is defence %
Gloves – Primary stat is defence %

Top 3 is a fill of accuracy, speed and defence to really boost those stats into an end game clan boss champion.
Don’t forget to put the glyphs on your champions as well as this is an even better way to get more stats, get these by farming faction wars.

Masteries

  • Deadly precision
  • Heart of glory
  • Keen strike
  • Pinpoint accuracy
  • Charged focus
  • Single out
  • Life drinker
  • Swarm smiter
  • Bring it down
  • Cycle of magic
  • Evil eye
  • Methodical
  • Lasting gifts
  • Master hexer
  • Warmaster

Using these 2 builds no matter what stage of the game you are will help your clan boss damage and it will allow you to better your rewards.

The next step from here is looking at speed tunes for your clan boss. These are the most effective ways to get the highest possible output on the clan boss in Raid: Shadow Legends.

Just wanted to give you a big thank you. I’ve been watching your YT channel for awhile now and it’s really helped me figure out my dungeon progression and my clan boss team. I totally built my team after catching your videos and reading your articles. I can now 1 key Hard and am working on gearing my team up to be good for Brutal. I look forward to reading more about speed tuning because it’s pretty tricky to me still for Clan Boss. And I use Sepulcher as my lead so I’m trying to get that 4:3 thing going so she can block the stun. Like I said, thanks so much for your content!

If you are in the early game you are better off in regen gear rather than lifesteal, especially with support champions, because your direct damage is usually not high enough or consistent enough for lifeseal to compete.

Just something you should note when giving advice to new players, they should not dismiss regen sets just because of what they read on the internet, they should look at what the sets are actually doing with their own setups.

The one problem with regen early (I agree that it’s great for non-warmaster champions) is that you barely have one set. I think you get some from missions, but a new player isan’t exatly gonna be able to farm FK.

What are the speeds for a 2 Maneater, Pain Keeper, Draco, and another champion team? I can’t find the article that was posted with the starts for each champ.
Thanks!

I think at least 80% of what I have learned about raid has come from your videos and live streams, the detail in which you and your team breakdown every aspect of the game is startling. If ever anyone has a question that is not answered on this website, it is answered in your Discord channel. I believe you and your team have made the game so much more understandable and enjoyable certainly for me and I believe a large section of the Raid community. Keep doing what you do guys you ROCK

This is for HH or anyone else out there doing Clan Boss, has anyone actually noticed that for poison champs that if you put more than 6 you don’t get the damage added to you total?

Hello, anyone knows the speed required for a 4:3 sepulcher on Nightmare CB (Not ultra nightmare)? If you could tell me that would probably enhance my CB from a 3 key nightmare to a 2 key nightmare. Please tell me if you know the speed that’s requierd.
