How to Master Live Arena Seasons

Live Arena Seasons in RAID: Shadow Legends have introduced a competitive but demanding grind that rewards both time commitment and tactical efficiency. While the system offers enticing rewards, such as high-value relics and crafting materials, the amount of effort required to obtain them is considerable. Understanding the mechanics behind Live Arena Seasons is crucial to making the most of them—especially for players aiming to hit the key milestone of 1,320 points

Why 1,320 Points Matter

Reaching 1,320 points during a Live Arena Season unlocks 100 Runed Obsidian, which allows for a single craft of the new Live Arena relics. While these relics may not be as game-changing as others like Wand of Submission or Cat’s Gaze, they still offer value—especially for newer or mid-game players.
To maximize your crafting potential, always combine four materials of the same rarity and origin. Mixing materials—mythic, legendary, epic, and rare, or from different relic sources—significantly decreases your chances of getting optimal results. Since Live Arena crafting materials are limited to one every four to six weeks, efficiency is key.

Are Live Arena Relics Worth It?

Live Arena relics are currently underwhelming compared to the game’s top-tier options, but a few still hold strong niche value. For example, Death Dealer potentially allows critical hits to bypass affinity rules, which could save critical rate stats. However, this benefit is conditional and not confirmed across all scenarios.
Meanwhile, the Infernal Polytope relic offers a potential 30–40% cooldown reset when a champion falls below 15% HP—particularly valuable on unkillable champions like Leorius. Others, like Essence Quencher, provide stat boosts like critical damage but come with situational effectiveness.
In general, these relics are best seen as complementary—strong in the right teams, but not central to a high-end strategy.

How Many Battles Do You Need?

The grind to reach 1,320 points varies greatly depending on your win rate. Each win grants +9 points, while each loss subtracts -3. This point structure allows for simple forecasting:
100% win rate: Requires 146 wins (~6 fights/day)

80% win rate: Around 200 fights total (~8/day)

60% win rate: About 330 fights (~12/day)

50% win rate: Requires roughly 440 fights (~15/day)

For the average player hovering between 50% and 60% win rate, expect to spend around 1–2 hours daily in Live Arena. Each match, on average, takes about 5 minutes. That’s 30+ hours per season just to secure the basic milestone rewards.
To sustain this level of participation, it’s recommended to use the free daily refill and purchase the 10-gem refill each day. Without it, keeping pace with the season becomes very difficult, especially toward the end.

The Real Challenge: Time Commitment

Players with sub-50% win rates may need to push 20+ battles a day to stay competitive, which translates into several hours of gameplay daily. This level of grind is impractical for many, particularly those juggling real-life responsibilities or already engaged in other in-game content like Hydra, Clan Boss, or Faction Wars.
At this rate, Live Arena becomes less of a PvP event and more of a time-gated resource farming event—an intensive dungeon grind disguised as competitive multiplayer.

The Issue With Seasonal Chests

Once you hit 1,320 points, you unlock the ability to farm seasonal chests. These contain gear from the Rebirth and Stone Cleaver sets, which are decent but not yet meta-defining. Rebirth enhances revive-based teams, while Stone Cleaver offers high burst potential against stone skin defenses, especially when paired with blessings like crackling roots.
However, a major flaw is that you must reach the 1,320 threshold before farming these chests—meaning the bulk of the grind offers no direct access to these rewards until it’s essentially over. Worse, each additional chest requires 175 more points, equating to about 19 straight wins, or 25–30 additional battles depending on your win rate.
Many players won’t have the time or stamina to push beyond the milestone, which makes the reward track feel somewhat unbalanced and gated.

Leaderboards: From PvP to Dungeon Grind

At the top of the leaderboard, elite players have already logged over 2,000 matches in just 10 days. This isn’t just about competition—these players are farming seasonal gear. Live Arena Seasons have effectively become a dungeon for top players to grind legendary relics by sheer volume.
This raises concerns about accessibility. For players without massive gem reserves or time to spare, the seasonal gear becomes unattainable—not because of skill, but because of resource limitations. A better system might allow for steady chest progression at intervals (e.g. every 175 points) throughout the season rather than locking it entirely behind the end milestone.

Final Thoughts: Strategy Over Speed

For most players, the goal should be simply to hit 1,320 points. That’s the reward tier with the most value: a guaranteed legendary (or better) relic, a legendary tome, and some extra gear pieces.
Forget about chasing the leaderboard unless you’re ready to spend thousands of gems and commit multiple hours daily. Instead, focus on consistent participation. With a 60% win rate, aim for around 12–13 fights per day and commit to the long haul.
Live Arena may evolve in the future, but as it stands now, it is less about head-to-head PvP skill and more about time management, efficient team building, and commitment.
If you’re already behind in points, it’s not too late—but the window to catch up narrows every day. Pace yourself, plan ahead, and most importantly, decide whether the rewards justify the grind.

I just cannot care enough to add an extra 2 hours of grinding to my day. Raid is a casual, click some things while reading a book kind of commitment. If I wanted 2 hours of hand on grinding I could think of a lot better ways to spend it than live arena. I’ll be playing Blue prince instead
