Huge Arena Changes!! Is it fixed?!
Plarium has just dropped the news on some HUGE changes for the arena which are greatly needed given the current circumstances.
These changes have been called for, for as long as I can remember, but with the recent issues, it was clear that Plarium needed to act, and fast. Props to them, they’ve done that very quickly, and these changes could be phenomenal, opening up the arena and their Arbiter missions sooner will be a great benefit to many as they can be huge road blocks.
Hey everyone!
Last week we mentioned that we were planning to make some changes to Arena. And I would like to shed some light on these changes.
(1) We’re lowering the requirements for Gold V and Platinum Tiers as follows:
- Gold V – from 3500 to 3200 points
- Platinum – from 3800 to 3500 pointsThose changes will become active immediately after the update today.
(2) Also, we’re working on stabilization of victory/defeat points distribution. Thus, reducing the number of cases when the gap between the victory/defeat points is too dramatic.
You might notice the positive change after the update. And we’ll continue monitoring the situation to be able to react when needed.
(3) Another change that should be mentioned is that we’re making the matchmaking more flexible in terms of selecting the opponents for players in Silver and Bronze. And making sure to avoid the scenario when players from higher Gold Tiers are drastically falling to the lower ones.
(4) And, probably, the most anticipated changes we’re planning to release in the nearest time are the Progress Mission changes.
We’re planning to adjust the requirements for the following Missions:
- Advance to Gold I Tier > Advance to Silver III Tier
- Advance to Gold II Tier > Advance to Silver IV Tier
- Advance to Gold III Tier > Advance to Gold I Tier
- Advance to Gold IV Tier > Win 200 Battler on Arena (any Tier)
After going live, those adjustments will become active even for the players who already started one of the mentioned Missions with the older requirements. Thus, meaning the older version of the Mission will be autocompleted.
The only exception is the Advance to Gold IV Tier Mission that will be replaced with Win 200 Battles on Arena one. This Mission won’t be retroactive and all players will start it from the scratch.
Please, note, the first three changes will go live today, while the fourth one will be released a bit later.

This is a huge step in the right direction, but how do you feel about these changes? Let us know in the comments
If the victory/defeat point are well adjusted, that would be a great improvement. Wining one and losing one should keep you in the same spot, not lower. that would help to stabilize the drop of strong players to lower tiers.
Except if you win a defensive battle and loose immediately after to the same opponent then you still loose more points than you gained. Had this happen to me already, Won 9 in first battle. Lost 11 in second battle.
We’re 4 days later. I see no change I win 7 and lose 13 ive gotten to arena silver 4 just to lose and drop right into 3 then keep dropping into mid tier than i have to find 8-10 fights just to get back up again. The balancing is still junk.
I’d say that this is a huge improvement, especially for midgame players such as myself. I have been stucḱ on reach Gold II for very long, but now I can progress to… upgrade a great hall bonus to level 7. Then level 8. Then 9. Then FK and Spider 20. The great hall stuff should get nerfed with these new videos, otherwise this is a great fix!
Looks good on paper, but in game It doesn’t appear anything has changed based on win / loss history in game logs.
I was comfortably in gold IV for a long time and am now struggling between gold I and gold II, so this is a welcomed change. Especially since I’ve plateaued a bit in building an arena team.
Guess I’d better spend some gems to unlock dungeons and wrap up the G4 requirement before they reset and I have to do 200 wins instead.
Only thing is that they will keep the upgrade GH to level 10, which means you have to grind endlessly in G1. I am nonetheless looking forward to see how arena is improving
Yeah, they missed that one, and if you think that grind is bad in Gold 1, just wait until you need 3 GH to 10 after you get Arbiter. But overall it’s much better than last year, when they just threw a bunch of garbage teams in the upper tiers and let it fester. The question is, did they truly fix the matchmaking and rating integrity, or will it slowly break down again.
Great changes!
And now the big question: When will (4) happen. Next week, next month, next quarter?
My missions haven’t changed. I still have the same objectives and I’ve been playing for about 2 years, I’m still mid game because I never receive good champions and I get constant repeat champions. I’m FTP.
Great news for those who have been blocked in their Arbiter mission.
As for me, I dropped from Gold 4 to Gold 1 in a matter of 2 weeks but the patch didn’t improve anything.
Still the same OP teams with Arbiters on steroids, Trundas, Hegemons, Siphis and other Ma’shalleds.
And the same “get 6 points if victory, loose 14 if defeat” nonsense is still happily f….g us like if there was no tomorrow.
It really isn’t because I still need something like 2700 gold medals and can’t find any opponents I have a chance at winning. I lose 7-8/10 in Gold I and I have a 270 Kimi with Kymar speed lead. That’s 300+ start and not winning the speed race…
Soon it will be off to the next game for me.
level 63 and all I see when I try to get out of silver 3 is super teams with a minimum of 150k teams and cant win a defense if i tried and still have to get gold 2 before I can get arbiter.
So far as I can tell in the arena. It has not changed for me personally. I have a high level acct and a lower one. my lower one is silver 4 but not facing the same opponents. My main acct is lvl 63 and everyone in silver 3 and 4 is impossible to face. thus knocking me back down every attempt. The daily requirement to do 5 arena battles pretty much forces me to lower my rank in essence. I am stuck trying to progress and gain arbiter due to the fact I cant reach gold 1 let alone 2….. there are too many streamers and paid players to accomplish a task like that anymore. I think they should all be placed into there own bracket so us F2P players dont have to endure constant failure…. Just a thought..
yea, Still can’t seem to make it anywhere in Arena – always rocking back and forth between II and III. have to wait for the low-hanging fruit seems like everyone I go up against has way better heroes. Valkryie, Arbiter, Scyl. Thing of it is: I was in Gold back 6 months ago before I took a several month-long break. My heroes are way higher power now and I am doing far worse. Just resigned to farming arena at this point and giving up on making any real progress.
This made it worse, not better. I am pre-Arbiter and was in high Gold I charging for Progress missions when changes hit. Now I am trapped in Gold and can’t lose fast enough to get out, AND I still can’t find anyone I am able to beat. Everyone already has Arbiter lead (or better). Arena is a complete waste of time, except I need it to get medals for Great Hall (which is also required for Arbiter). But how to farm without Arbiter?
Does Plarium think losing 7-8 of 10 Arena battles is supposed to be fun, because I’m on the road to quitting.
Definitely not fixed below Gold, but they don’t want to fix it. If they wanted to fix it there’s plenty of things they could do. Gold’s not fixed either, but with the limited number of points lost from defense you can at least maintain a rating. In Silver IV you get attacked by Gold I accounts. Today I got attacked by an account with 5 times my account power (I’m at 800,000, they had over 4 million). They also had more than twice my arena team’s power and over 200 points higher rating. Yep. Working as intended.
NO IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FIXED! Maybe Gold is easier for those that mange to get there, but Silver 3 and 4 is totally ridiculous and trying to keep up with the number of losses suffered is almost impossible, the matchmaking still seems wrong. Progress can be made to mid silver 4 and then the next day when you log on you have fallen back to silver 3. It really makes you want to stop playing the game.
