That is a complicated question with an even more complicated answer! It depends on what type of player you are.

Raid: Shadow Legends is advertised as a Free to Play game with micro-transactions built into the game. A free-to-play player is a person that spends no real money in the game and only relies on the resources the game gives them. A pay-to-win player will spend some real money on resources for the game. This can be a low spender where the player will buy resources every now and then to a massive spender that has spent thousands and thousands of dollars in the game. These players are known as Whales or Krakens in the Community.

Pay to win players play a very important role in the development of Raid, as it gives revenue to the company that runs the game and enables them to employ developers to make improvements and add content to the game, which is crucial to longevity and the lifespan of the game. However, do not feel you need to spend money on the game. if your current life circumstances mean you can’t, don’t worry, there are plenty of very high spenders out there.

Undoubtedly, this game is much more of a challenge as a free-to-play player, as it takes a lot longer to get higher in the dungeons but that does not mean it’s harder, remember RNG plays a part in Raid. You could spend thousands on Raid and still not have the champions or gear you need, but it does help. The more energy and shards you have, the more chances you have to get the desired champions and gear. Content Creators around the world have shown that it is possible to play, and enjoy, Raid as a free to play player and in some cases, like Hell Hades, enjoy the challenge of free to play more than his “main” account where he has spent a lot of money on. You just need to know what you are doing, and the HellHades F2P YouTube series will help you with that.

You can still be competitive as a free-to-play player. But, It requires dedication and exceptionally good resource management. There are players out there that are totally free to play and have finished everything in the game including the Ramantu missions.

So, to answer the question, yes it can be if you like the challenge of trying to find unique champions and team strategies to complete all the areas of the game and not just use the champions everyone else is using. Free to play is for you. Raid Shadow legends is an amazing game and is fun no matter what kind of player you are.

What kind of player are you? Are you free to play, low spender or a Whale? Let us know in the comment section below, we love hearing from you!

I am a FTP, and I really enjoy it. I am not the most active player, but I have never had problems with silver or energy. I have saved some resources and is, if they are good, gonna go for 1 or 2 epics in the christmas fusion.

RAID PVE is fun for F2P. However PVP is hell. It’s so unbalanced that is sucks. I could get to GOLD II as F2P. However, after you get to GOLD, you start to notice that almost every tem have the same champs.

Seeker, Deacon Armstrong, Madame Serris, SkullCrown, Gorgorab, Mausoleum Mage, Martyr, Trunda are in every team i face. Just to mention some of them. It’s almost impossible to advance without any of them. Besides that, it’s unbeliavable that you can actually get champs like Mada Serris, SkullCrow or Trunda without spending money (a lot of money). So i’m stuck, facing players that spent tons of money to get them (or was just toooo lucky to get them). This is so true, that only teams with them have space above GOLD II (and 1 too, in less degree). I wish we have a higher amount of variability on arena. I wish i didn’t feel that if i don’t get any of them , i can’t really advance.

I can agree, PVP can be really hard. I did very recently pull a Skullcrown and is intending to use it to speed up my farming, but I understand your frustration. It was so for me too up until 4 days ago.

My opinion, speed tune your team and farm speed gear, speed in general is most important for success in arena – most champs are a lot less annoying when you smack them around the head before they get a turn… ^^

I am 100% FTP and have been in gold 4 for a very long time. It’s possible but you need the right champs, and more importantly speed gear!
Just look at what champions you have and and speed tune a team that works for you. I found Uugo awesome even though you don’t see her in many teams. The block buffs works against all the skullcrown/leorius teams.
Good luck and remember, farm that dragon!

even as a low spender, the arena is annoying. Especially that you are forced to play arena suxx

I am FTP day 150. I actually joined raid because a friend was looking for extra rewards through the raid referral program. i did my homework, i dont struggle, i actually advise and help this friend. This is all thanks to guides, tips and all the exceptional content that gents like HellHades, Ash, Scratch, ColdBrew and MurderInc put out for us.
