Is Raid Shadow Legends really free?
Sure, the game itself is downloadable without any charge, labeling it as a ‘free game’ but is it really free to play?
Yes, no, all of the above, the game is technically free to play, however, if you want to be able to progress the content that you enjoy and do so continuously, you’re going to need to unfasten those purse strings a little bit.
The recent tournaments we’ve had for legendary Champions such as Krisk the Ageless really prove this, if you wanted to compete in your brackets to get your hands on some top-tier champions you would be very tight pushed to do it without whacking out the credit card.
Raid shadow legends operate with a pay to play structure, unlike other games you may have played on your pc, which typically have an upfront cost, with Raid Shadow Legends, you will literally have to pay to play, purchasing energy or gem packs to continue progressing consistently for a longer period of time.
You’ll need to purchase shards to get the best champions quickly unless you really are in lucks favor, and you’ll need potions, chickens, brews, potions, gear etc, all of which are easier and faster to acquire when you operate with the same pay to play mindset.
All of that being said, Raid Shadow Legends is free, free to download, free to play (with no adverts!), and free to progress, it is absolutely possible to play without spending a single penny if you’re willing to put in the time and effort that will take.
Summary
Raid Shadow Legends is a free-to-download and play game, however, if you would like to progress the game competitively, making in-game purchases will give you the edge you need to be able to compete with other players who will more than likely also be making purchases.
During early to mid-game, purchases really are not necessary unless you want to be a competitive player from the get-go, the game is a long grind to get to the point where you can be truly competitive, and speeding up this process is often one people decide to do.
I disagree. It is very tempting to pay for advancement in this game but it isn’t necessary. It’s pay to get to the end game quicker. If you’re willing to put in the time and be patient, you will eventually have really great champs and really good gear. You’ll have to be disciplined with your resources and save them for the fusion/fragment events. But as a FTP player you can complete those without spending. If you never spent a dime in the game but played it regularly for 2-3 years, you’d be in gold 5 arena, have a ultra nm clan boss team, have fairly quick dungeon teams, and be able to complete doom tower hard. Fully end game for free is possible
