Plarium Announces Big Plans for 2021 – Interview with Ash and Cirilla

As many of you may have seen Ash (Clash With Ash) recently uploaded an interview with Cirilla from Plarium where they talked about all the plans for the start of 2021. We thought we would share our thoughts of some of the detailed that was discussed in the interview.

What is coming in 2021?

One of the first things that we took away from this interview that we wanted to note was Cirilla’s comment on the meeting that she had attended where Plarium outlined their Road Map for 2021. She went on to say that the plans for 2021 were looking exciting.

This is great news for the community because it means that the development team are working on some projects that we will see in the coming months.

It is good to know that they already have features and ideas in place before the year starts for the future of Raid: Shadow Legends.

Silver Costs In Raid: Shadow Legends

As many of you will have experienced recently the silver cost in the game is getting crazy. With so much content in the game at the moment requiring you to constantly rebuild and rehear your champions there needs to be some improvements or measures put in place. During the interview, they were unclear as to what their plan was for silver and the cost of rehearing champions but it is clearly on their radar as something that needs to be resolved.

It is possible that the current state of silver was fine with the previous structure of the game not requiring constant regears, however, with the introduction of doom tower it is possible that the game has outgrown the current setup.

Doom Tower

The second thing that Cirilla addressed in the interview with Ash was the current state of the Doom Tower. They have been looking at how players have been progressing through the tower and it is clear that especially on Hard, stages 50-70 are in need of adjustments.

We are in agreement that the Doom Tower should absolutely be hard and challenging to climb, however, with the current state a lot of the waves are actually harder to get through than the actual bosses. Currently, if you do not have a Seer and a reset champion some of the floors are more of a roadblock than the bosses.

Another more controversial opinion, although we agree with what they say on this one, the team at Plarium also feel that some of the bosses found in the Doom Tower are actually too easy. There are currently too many ways to bypass the abilities effectively rending the bosses useless and very lacklustre in terms of offering a challenge to players.

The Doom Tower has been in the making for so long that it should offer a real feel of progression for your account rather than a paywall locked behind a requirement for certain champions.

Balance Patches

Cirilla moves on from the Doom Tower to talk about the balance patches that have already been put in place and some of the upcoming ones. Regular updates to champions through patches are important in games like Raid Shadow Legends because it keeps the champions fresh and shifts the meta to keep players engaged.

It is great to see epic, rare and legendary champions that would have previously been sat in the vault dusted off for use in the game. I don’t think anyone can question the quality of artwork and design that goes into the champions in Raid so it is a shame to see some of them have no place in the game.

Samurai Faction

This is a huge drop from Plarium! Announcing that they will in fact be going ahead with the previously planned new faction being added into the game. We were under the impression that this faction had in fact been scrapped, especially after seeing the champion Saito added into the undead roster. However, it seems that Plarium will actually be launching this faction in early spring 2021.

Battle Pass Season 2

Now, this is something that has caused some confusion on our end. The talk around the community has always been that we have not seen a Battle Pass launch since season 1 because of their internal KPI measurements in the game. I know for a fact that everyone who had the battle pass would love to see it again, and those who joined after it dropped are pretty envious that they did not get the opportunity to get involved.

Cirilla stated that they are looking at ways to make the battle pass more enticing for players. While we can only speculate as to the actual figures of the pass being successful it honestly sounds like they are working on ways to make it better! That can only be a good thing, but will we actually ever see it? We will have to wait and see.

Dupe Systems

While it is great to hear that a dupe system is still on Plarums Radar we really can’t see how hard it is to put a fix into this for the community. We have seen so many options suggested by the community that could be implemented to really improve the quality of life around this issue. Cirilla goes on the mention that we should see a solution to dupe champions in Raid Shadow Legends during the 1st half of 2021 but we will have to wait and see.

The return of the VOID TOWER

Believe it or not that tower on your map is again being hinted as the VOID TOWER. This tower will run in addition to the Doom Tower and apparently the two were never intended to be the same thing – but there is little more information than that at this stage. So, roll on the waiting time for the Void Tower again guys! It is coming but who knows when!

Clan Wars!

This is another huge info drop with some details that clan vs clan could be coming to raid shadow legends in the “not too” distant future, we are most likely looking at this being the back end of 2021 so don’t get excited just yet, but its cool to see it is on the agenda.
