Smite was released in 2014 and is still going strong to this day! Smite allows you to take on the role of a God or Goddess from a third-person perspective, then subsequently engage in combat with other players. I was blown away when I learned the stakes people played this game at. It currently has a million-dollar esports pool! Maybe we should get involved!
The most popular mode for Smite is Conquest mode, where two teams of five players go at it in the arena. Players are allowed resources to buy weapons and other upgrades before the round starts and both teams begin the round at their teams’ fountain. The goal is to kill the other teams Phoenix and Titan.
VainGlory is a game which is looking to have cross platform between PC and Mobile gaming! Originally released for iOS and Android devices back in 2014 & 2015, Vainglory is currently in Alpha on Windows and Mac.
You can venture off of the path, avoiding or battling AI turrets and other monsters, to gain gold to help your team to victory. This is a cross-platform title, meaning people on all three different release platforms can play in the same match with each other. Now this may be tricky for mobile gamers due to the advantages on the PC but I think it will be a fun experience for all!
The game itself is amazing and we’ve spent many hours in Vainglory achieving the highest rank gold Vainglorious! This is why this game has placed in the top 5 MOBA’s! Go check it out and you won’t be disappointed as it is a very easy game to learn and pick up.
#3 Heros of the Storm
Heros of the Storm was created by Blizzard who are a well known company that have many well known titles!
Players are thrust into intense 5v5 battles on 15 different maps. It even includes mounts. This is a top 3 MOBA and could even compete with 2nd! Heros of the Storm is well worth checking out long into the future. The amount of maps that this game has is really incredible in comparison to the other games on this list with the majority having one or two different maps.
#2 Dota 2
In Dota 2 your goal is to defeat the other players and to collect loot along the way which will make you stronger . Dota 2 has had the title of the best MOBA thrown around over the past few years which in itself isn’t to be taken lightly however it just doesn’t quite take the number 1 spot of our top 5 games!
Dota 2 has an insanely large competitive gaming scene. Tournaments and leagues all over the world compete with each other in this richly detailed environment. The prize pool of Dota 2 in 2018 was a mental $25,532,177 split between multiple teams! So if this isn’t incentive enough to learn the game and become pro then what is? If your mum says gaming isn’t going to get you a job then look at the prize pool and tell her you’re going to be the best!
#1 League Of Legends
League Of Legends takes the number 1 spot on our Top 5 due to the fact the game is a lot smoother than the rest and isn’t as complex to learn! Players all start on the same level and with the same amount of gold leaving it up to the player to advance and get better skills and items.
League of Legends has a richly detailed backstory, with an original fantasy lore or backstory being written around the different champions, something I like over the other MOBAs.
Destroying the opposing team’s nexus is the goal of the game, and you need to battle your way through a wide and wild array of characters.
You have five roles to choose from and they all play a part in defeating the enemy’s nexus so make sure you team up with your friends as any game is better with friends!
There we have it guys and girls, Our top 5 MOBA’s that you can play right now! Check out the video below for more info on the games in the list!
