YST – HH Gaming Spotlight
Our team at HH Gaming has expanded so much over the last few years, and that’s a huge thank you to you, the community!
But with so many faces working both in the public eye and behind the scenes, we want to give you the opportunity to get a little closer to us personally and know exactly who is helping to produce the content you are taking in from our various creators’ YouTube Channels or the website!
In this spotlight, we’re going to be touching base with YST!
Who are you?
Hey, I’m YST! I’m a content creator covering Raid: Shadow Legends through videos and streams on YouTube. I also work full-time at HH Gaming, where I manage the champion guide pages and write articles on strategies, guides, and more!
What do you do at HH Gaming? And How long have you been involved?
I’ve been part of the HH Gaming Team for 2 years, primarily focusing on creating champion pages and keeping them up to date as the game evolves. I also write articles that break down strategies, cool topics, and more.
Favourite Piece of Content You’ve Produced
My favourite content to create was the one-shot strategy using Gnishak Verminlord, back when defeating Bommal the Dreadhorn was one of the toughest challenges in the game. It’s cool to see players still using similar strategies to speed-farm this boss whenever the rotation comes back around.
First game you remember playing, and how it shaped your love for gaming
My earliest gaming memories are from playing the first-generation Pokémon games on the Gameboy and Sonic Adventure on the Sega Dreamcast. I still remember the excitement of playing those games with my siblings, which sparked my passion for gaming and led me to explore and enjoy future consoles & games as they were released.
Another game I’ll highlight is one that holds sentimental value: Pandemonium on the PlayStation 1. It’s the first game I really remember enjoying with my dad, as we tackled some of its challenging levels together. It’s a platformer centered around two characters, the jester Fargus and the sorceress Nikki, each with unique abilities. I loved the excitement of not knowing what each new level would bring as we fought enemies and bosses. Recently, I even bought a brand new copy of the game to keep as a collectable!
Lastly, I’ve always loved playing Tomb Raider, exploring ancient tombs, solving puzzles, and battling enemies in search of powerful and ancient artifacts. I’ve continued playing the series as new titles were released, but one of my favourite memories is from Tomb Raider II, when locking Winston, the butler, in the fridge – it was hilarious and still sticks with me to this day.
When and How did you get into RAID?
Favourite 3 Champions and why?
It’s no surprise that my favourite champion in the game is Genzin. Since my YouTube logo features a masked warrior, I was on the lookout for a champion to represent my channel when the Shadowkin faction was released, and Genzin fit the role perfectly. He was the first guaranteed event champion I ever went for, and I even had a custom mask made to replicate his, which I occasionally wear in videos and streams. As for gameplay, I currently use him in my Hard Fire Knight team, Faction Wars, and sometimes in Arena just for fun.
For my second choice, there’s an Epic from the Dwarves called Conellia. Initially, many players didn’t see much use for her, but once I tested the uniqueness of her A3, I knew she had potential for some fun builds. After testing her out, I managed to defeat most Doom Tower bosses using her as a solo option with different builds, though the Frenzy gear changes mean she can’t solo Bommal 90 anymore. She’s definitely one of my favourites due to the fun I had creating those videos… plus, she’s a bit creepy, and I wouldn’t want her haunting me if I don’t choose her!
There were so many champions I could have picked as my third choice, but I’m going with Firrol the Barkhorn. He was the first Legendary I summoned with Prism Shards, and he completely transformed my main Hydra team. Firrol brings Block Buffs and Decrease Accuracy, reducing the resistance my team needs while preventing enemies from placing effects. His Increase Resistance and Perfect Veil help counter the Head of Torment, and his passive boosts stats and increases damage output by 20%. Plus, he just looks awesome in game, like a decorated Christmas tree!
Favourite Content Area in RAID?
My favourite content area in the game has to be the Doom Tower. I like that it doesn’t require energy to progress through the stages, offers access to cool champions and rewards by completing floors and gathering fragments from secret rooms, and features some of the most creative boss designs. Plus, I appreciate how many different champions can be used to tackle even the toughest encounters.
What do you do outside of gaming?
Since becoming a father, nothing makes me happier than spending time with my two daughters. Whether it’s hearing about their day at school, playing with toys, watching their favourite shows, or seeing them improve in the things they’re most passionate about, it’s always a joy. When we go out, we love thrill seeking at theme parks, visiting museums, and taking trips to the park – just to name a few!
Being part of the HH Gaming Team has also been a blast, and I always look forward to meetups. We’ve done events like the Insomnia Gaming Convention, Twitch Con in Las Vegas, and local hangouts with creators like Deadwood Jedi.
I’m also a huge boxing fan, so I try to attend events when I can or at least catch them live on TV.
