Zenless Zone Zero: Patch 1.1 Upcoming Agents

Three new agents have been officially revealed for patch 1.1, the first major update to Zenless Zone Zero after launch. This patch is expected to go live in early August 2024. 

The most interesting (and worrying!) thing about the three agents is that they all come from the same faction: the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. This is the same faction as Zhu Yuan, the second limited agent who will be available after Ellen’s banner in the launch patch. This means that three agents from the same faction will be running on limited banners back-to-back. Since agents unlock crucial passives by teaming up with others from the same faction or element, this makes these back-to-back limited banners very intensive for any CISRT fan. If this is a trend that continues in ZZZ, players might have to save their polychrome for weeks in advance to prepare for new agents from their favorite factions. 

It is currently unknown what ranks these agents will be. If Zenless Zone Zero follows the trend that Hoyoverse has set with Honkai: Star Rail, then it is likely that there will be 2 S-rank agents added with each major patch, running on approx 3-week limited banners. Since there are three agents coming in patch 1.1, we can speculate that two will be S-rank agents and one will be an A-rank agent.

Qinqyi is the first new agent revealed for patch 1.1 and should already be a familiar face to players who have played through chapter 3 of the main story in patch 1.0. She is from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team faction where she is the partner of Zhu Yuan. It is likely that the pair will form a strong team, making Qingyi a strong potential agent to pull for if you skipped Ellen in favor of Zhu Yuan in the first patch of ZZZ. 

Seth is the second new agent revealed for patch 1.1. He is from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team faction and is speculated to be a defense agent due to his baton and shield weaponry (plus, Ben is the only other defense agent in the game so far—we need more!). If this is the case, he could also be a strong pairing with Zhu Yuan, Qingyi, or Jane Doe. 

Jane Doe is the third and final new agent announced for patch 1.1. Although the official teaser states that her faction is unknown, she appears alongside the other Criminal Investigation Special Response Team agents in the official launch trailer. Judging from her appearance and name, it is likely that she is an undercover police agent and this is why she is hiding her identity.
