Developer Round Table Update
Plarium hosted a Developer Round Table, where Content Creators were able to find out some insight into the future of RAID: Shadow Legends, with some controversial subjects brought up such as the recent Hydra Changes, as well as the massively critiqued Deck of Fates Event we’ve recently had for Freyja Fateweaver.
In this article, we are going to briefly summarize the points that were discussed, to hear YST and Hellhades’ thoughts on these subjects, be sure to watch the video attached below.
Let’s dive into the Developer Round Table!
Recent Deck of Fate Event – Freyja Fateweaver
The Deck of Fate event we have just finished had Soulstones as the primary point acquisition. This sparked a bit of an uproar and confusion. This event was the first of its kind that involved Soulstones, though it followed a similar format to previous shard-based events. One of the main points of feedback centred around an unexpected balance tweak. The developers acknowledged that this change caught many players off guard, and they plan to factor this feedback into future events.
Future Fusions
The fusion event schedule will stay consistent for now. The goal is to keep players engaged, ensuring that they always have activities available, rather than logging in to find nothing to do. However, the developers recognize the need for more flexibility in fusions. For instance, in past events, extra Epic Fragments were added to offer more chances for players to complete fusions. This type of flexibility is something they aim to build upon in future events.
Live Arena Updates
Live Arena will be a key focus moving forward. A series of updates are already in the works, starting with minor tweaks to be introduced later this year. The plan is to continue refining this mode into next year, keeping it engaging and balanced for players.
Hydra, Trunda and Shield Updates
The recent changes to Hydra Battles, Trunda Giltmallet, and Shields have been thoroughly covered in previous discussions. These tweaks, designed to balance gameplay, have been met with mixed reactions, but the team remains confident that they will lead to a more challenging and enjoyable experience.
Doom Tower, Faction Wars and Cursed City
- Doom Tower is considered “complete” content and won’t receive any major updates. The developers believe that additional content might not engage players further.
- Faction Wars, on the other hand, is an area under review. Developers hinted that potential updates are on the horizon to add more value and depth to this mode.
- Cursed City has a lot of potential, and the team hasn’t forgotten about it. Though no specific changes are detailed yet, it’s a mode developers are keen to improve in the future.
Siege Mode Updates
The team is happy with the high level of player participation in Siege Mode, but they admit they underestimated the intensity with which players would approach it. To address this:
- They’ve introduced a fix for draws, which went live recently.
- The cost of rebuilding Fortresses will be reduced by about 90%, making it much more affordable for players to stay competitive.
- Balance adjustments will continue, and while not a top priority, replays are being considered as a future addition.
Dungeon Divers Events
Currently, there are two paths forward for the Dungeon Divers Event: either adding new dungeons or renaming the event to better reflect its content. The developers don’t want to discourage players from farming dungeons, so they’re keen to preserve the event’s focus on encouraging players to build strong dungeon teams.
Quality of Life Improvements
Significant Quality of Life (QoL) changes are on the horizon, including:
- A Market update
- An Auto-Sell feature
- Champion and Gear Filters improvements These changes aim to improve the overall gameplay experience, allowing players to manage their collections more effectively and efficiently.
In-Game Time Optimisation
The developers are working on a time optimization feature to reduce the amount of time players need to spend in the game to complete their daily tasks. Though they haven’t provided specifics, this feature is designed to streamline gameplay without sacrificing content or engagement.
Champion and Gear Storage Space
More Champion space is on the way. However, developers are proceeding cautiously due to the technical risks involved. Expanding storage can increase account data load times, potentially leading to lags or crashes. Despite these challenges, players can expect additional Champion space in the near future.
No confirmation if we will get more Artifact Storage at present.
Event Dungeon
The new Event Dungeon had a successful launch, and the developers plan to make it a recurring feature. Future events will be expanded, with more global events like the Asgard Divide in mind. These events aim to provide engaging activities and meaningful choices for players.
Token Trader
The Token Trader system was introduced to help players deal with duplicate Champions, providing a way to exchange them for Champions with specific mechanics. The developers clarified that the Token Trader is not meant to be a tool for acquiring every Champion in the game, but rather a compensation mechanism. They’re monitoring its usage and will make adjustments if necessary, such as changing the 6-month countdown for tokens.
