Extra Legendary Event for Ancient Shards – August 19
Plarium has confirmed the next Extra Legendary Event is coming on Tuesday, August 19, and it will focus on Ancient Shards. These events are always exciting because they give players the rare chance to double up on Legendaries without any extra cost in resources beyond the shard itself.
Event Information
During the event, if you summon a Legendary Champion from an Ancient Shard, you’ll receive a different Legendary Champion from the same shard type as a bonus.
Key details:
- The Extra Legendary trigger only works once per account during the event.
- You won’t be charged any Silver for the additional summon.
- The bonus Legendary will not count toward Quests, Events, or Tournaments.
This makes the event particularly enticing for players who have been stockpiling Ancient Shards in hopes of boosting their roster.
Should you be pulling shards?
On paper, Extra Legendary Events are among the most rewarding summon opportunities in Raid: Shadow Legends. Pulling one shard and receiving two Legendaries is a huge value boost — provided you’re lucky enough to hit a Legendary in the first place. However, there are important considerations to keep in mind before committing your shards.
At present, there’s an active Fusion Warmup event in the game, which strongly suggests that a new Fusion announcement is just around the corner. Historically, Fusion events almost always require players to spend shards during Summon Rush or Champion Chase Tournaments. If you burn through your Ancients now, you may struggle to hit those shard-based milestones later and risk missing out on a brand-new Fusion Champion.
While the August 19 Extra Legendary Event offers fantastic value, it also comes at a tricky time. With a Fusion likely to be announced soon, this event could easily be seen as a bait designed to drain your shards before you’ll need them most.
If you’re stocked with Ancient Shards and comfortable with your resources, this event can be worthwhile. But if you’re planning to go for the next Fusion, it may be smarter to hold off. As always in Raid, careful planning is the key to long-term success.
