Loki the Deceiver Overview
Asgard, the great realm of the Fae-gods has come under attack from the Deceiver. Loki has learnt of the Gods involvement in Teleria and seeks to subvert the will of Odin by destroying the gods intentions and create eternal conflict. Will Freyja and Thor fall for the latest trickery of the Deceiver or will they see through these schemes and outwit Loki? Find out in Asgard Divide, the epic tale taking place in Telera in August 2024. All players earn Loki during his daily login promotional period start in Update 9.10.
This powerful trickster will find a place in many players teams although not always your farming dungeon teams. Naturally, Loki brings a bag of tricks to his skills starting first with his Mist Step passive that brings a brand new effect – Evade. This effect will allow Loki to completely ignore the damage and effects of an incoming skill. He operates significantly around Veil and Perfect Veil which boosts this chance further. The Passive active component depending on its implementation could also protect him from being instantly killed by a single ability but we will need testing to confirm how this works. Once he is under Veil, Loki begins impacting the battle with his Bandit Flash (A3) that will steal all the buffs from a single target and all of their turn meter. This will be incredibly powerful against Bosses that Turn Meter is crucial such as Fire Knight normal or the Dark Fae alongside being powerful in Arena (providing you can avoid Polymorph). These affects also do not require accuracy when he is under Veil, perfect for all states of account progression. Additionally he will also provide an Increase ATK buff to all your team.
His Deceiver’s Gambit is a complex ability. Conceptually, the goal is to place the Block Active Skills and Block Debuffs then spread them to all enemies if he is under veil. This is powerful against Mythicals as the only method to stop their Metamorph is to block their active skills. Alternatively, you can target your team, provide a huge heal that scales of Loki’s HP and spread buffs instead. The core issue is that only 2 random buffs or debuffs will be spread therefore if you require a specific effect to spread then this could be frustrating to realise its potential. As it is custom targeting, we will also need to see how the AI treats the targeting on auto which could affect his Hydra and dungeon running roles. Finally, his Flames of Mischief (A1) is a very competent 70% chance to extend the duration of all enemy debuffs whilst attacking All Enemies. This is incredibly powerful with a Stun Set or in places like Hydra where you really want to sustain debuffs for a long time.
Loki on initial evaluation looks between useful into incredibly powerful in niche/right situations but he will require a thorough playtest to discover all the nuances of his skill set. We can’t wait to get our hands on him to let him run his machinations in Teleria!
