Quintus the Triumphant Overview

As the battle wanes and many Arena foes are vanquished, Quintus stands Triumphant, leading the charge for the Banner Lords. He is an exclusive champion and can only be earned from the Live Arena (unlocked at Level 50).

If you need a champion to smack enemies around, look no further than Quintus. His A3 will provide him all the buffs he needs to deal maximum damage whilst bringing an AoE ability. If he should kill an enemy he’ll reset his other active ability, Strip Away. This ability instead of buffing Quintus, removes all the buffs on a single target then places a Decrease Defence debuff. Both effects also require no accuracy which is perfect because it allows you to build Quintus without accuracy and full damage. His A2 also brings a passive effect similar to Karato, where enemy champion passives and masteries such as Pythion’s damage reduction will be ignored. If his Strip Away kills an enemy then he resets his AoE A3 ability. Should his damage numbers be sufficient, its likely you’ll be using his active abilities much more than other champions as he will constantly be resetting them.

His A1 is a triple hit chance based on conditions which reads like it could be the hardest hitting A1 ability in the game. We’ll need to see his multipliers to confirm. Finally what make Quintus extra special is the passive, Percussion, where he will convert enemy buffs into an additional damaging hit that will ignore all defence and be based on the Target’s Max HP whenever he uses a skill. In PvE it should be noted that most late to end game encounters will cap this at 10% (therefore 1 buff) and it is unclear if it will always do 10% max hp or if a buff must be present. For Arena, in a buff meta this makes him very dangerous with a chance to deal upwards of 50-60% for 5-6 buffs on a target in addition to his on hit potential. As it is Pure Damage it will deal a huge chunk of damage.

Quintus will be a champion you will 100% want to acquire as he can be a Boss Killer, a Nuker in the Arena or a strong wave based damage dealer to push you through content or defeat the toughest opponents in the arena.

Understanding Arena Roles

Champions normally form specific roles within an arena team. Our ratings define the roles that the champion fits and rates them on their ability to perform the roles. Below you can see a breakdown of all of our roles.

Cleanser

Champions with the Cleanser role will use their skills to remove debuffs and keep them from being re-applied.

Crowd Control

Champions with the Crowd Control role will use their skills to place soft (i.e. Provoke or Taunt) and hard (i.e Freeze or Stun) debuffs to disable enemy champions.

Damage

Champions with the Damage role will have skills that deal significant damage and are designed to defeat enemy champions.

Damage Absorption

Champions with the Damage Absorption role will have skills or effects that reduce the incoming damage your team takes. This can be through passive damage reduction or by applying skills such as Strengthen or Shields.

Healer

Champions with the Healer role will have skills that restore your champion's Health including Continuous Heals.

Debuffer

Champions with the Debuffer role will have skills that place debuffs that don't fall into Crowd Control or Skill Manipulator roles i.e. Decrease Defence. These champions may also have skills that remove Buffs.

Revive

Champions with the Revive role will have skills that bring your ally champions back from the dead including Revive on Death buffs.

Skill Manipulator

Champions with the Skill Manipulator role will have skills that increase enemy skill cooldowns or reduce your ally skill cooldowns.

Speed Manipulator

Champions with the Speed Manipulator role will have skills that affect the turn meter of your allies or enemies. This includes speed buffs and debuffs aswell as direct turn meter effects.
