The Calamitus Overview
This necromancer has risen from the shadow realm, and he’s recruited a horde to impose bloodshed on the underworld… until he finds out who put him there! The Calamitus is the first Mythical Champion to join the Undead Hordes Faction.
BASE FORM
As a Mythical champion, Calamitus can switch between two Metamorphs, with each form offering a unique set of abilities. In his base form, he places various debuffs, restores his health, and deals consistent damage to enemies. Opening with Necroclysm [A3], he unleashes an always critical AoE attack that now ignores 20% of enemy Defence, followed by placing an Unkillable buff on himself if he secures a kill. Whether in Arena or wave based content, this adds an extra layer of survivability upon killing enemies.
Leading into Horde of Calamity [A2], he applies Block Buffs, Decrease Defence, Weaken, and Decrease Speed debuffs. This skill ignores 10% of the target’s Defence on the first hit, then an additional 5% with each subsequent attack – making it especially valuable in single target encounters like the Sand Devil, Dark Fae, or Shogun. Since his buff, Calamitus now passively places Increase Attack on himself and gains a 50% Shield at the start of every turn, boosting both his damage output and survivability – strong enough to solo content like the Scarab King. Additionally, his A1 and A2 now have a 20% increased chance to land critical hits, allowing you to build him with just 80% Crit Rate for full efficiency.
ALTERNATE FORM
As Calamitus Metamorphs, he becomes a Hydra slaying machine. Like his base form, his alternate skills now benefit from an additional 20% chance to critically hit, along with a reduced cooldown on his A3 and increased damage potential on his A2. While many champions can place Hex or Decrease Defence, Calamitus is the first to ignore both Life Barrier and Poison Cloud buffs. Poison Cloud is an unremovable buff that causes all incoming attacks to become weak hits unless the target is under HP Burn – so being able to bypass this is huge for freeing allies from Digestion and maintaining control in Hydra fights.
Leading into the A2, Calamitus removes all debuffs from himself before attacking, ignores 20% of each target’s Defence [increased to 35% if they’re under Hex], and boosts his damage by 10% for each debuff on each target. In encounters like Hydra, Hard Mode Spider, or any battle where enemies are stacked with debuffs and Hex, setting up for this attack frequently can be extremely powerful. Lastly, his passive allows him to transfer all debuffs back to an attacker, making him a strong option for reflecting poisons onto bosses like the Dragon.
