Wight King Narses Overview
All hail the Wight King of the Knight Revenants – Narses! With Scepter and Relic, and the unholy power he seeks to conquer all of Teleria with his bride, the February 2024 fusion Wight Queen Ankora.
Narses is an absolute Arena Specialist which makes ratings for him somewhat complicated on first glance. Lets first focus on the arena aspect of his abilities. He is incredibly powerful whether paired with Ankora or not, with the A3 gaining an extra turn being the most desirable feature gained from the matchup. His passive makes him ignore all Shield and Strengthen buffs which is perfect against a Bolster team led by Marichka. He then can deal damage on the a2 to all enemies, striking twice should a Shield or Strengthen buff exists. Because he ignores shields – his first hit will not consume the shield buff, guaranteeing him a second hit. He is punished by losing the damage gained from his masteries and ally passive skills but features such as artifact sets from both himself and allies on first glance will still work (such as Protection set or Lethal). Usually we would expect HP champions to be poor when dealing damage however conditional extra hits (such as Magnarr A2) repeat the same damage as the first essentially dealing double damage. As such we expect this to be a hard hitting ability only when he hits twice.
His A3 will likely require investment into buffs but potentially could cause havoc against heavy buffed teams if the damage on a significant scale. Should he kill a 3 buffed enemy then this will place a Block Revive almost guaranteeing victory in the Arena. It also hits twice leaving Rotos with little to no ways to counter this ability.
Outside of arena however his abilities lose much of their potency. The exclusion of bosses makes his A2 weak versus Hydra Clan Boss which reduces AoE Damage abilities quite significantly. He does not bring any primary forms of debuffs or buffs leaving him an expensive champion to bring in any team you build and being HP based will be outscaled by most Defence and Attack based damage dealers. That is why our ratings show him to be quite weak in dungeon content but he retains a higher overall due to his arena value.
We may adjust this guide considerably as we see more playtesting but we anticipate him to be an absolute Arena Monster especially when joined by Wight Queen Ankora but otherwise a champion too limited to find a home in your teams.
