September Fusion Champions Revealed

Three new Champions are coming to RAID: Shadow Legends alongside the upcoming Theimios the Everdrinker Fusion.

The new additions cover all three major rarities. Shore-spear Fionn is a Rare with some surprising Turn Meter control. Unblinking is an Epic built around protection and control. Then we have Theimios the Everdrinker, the Legendary Fusion Champion.

Fionn and Unblinking are expected to form part of the Fusion requirements, so many players will encounter both Champions on their way towards Theimios.

Let’s take a closer look at all three new Champions and where they could fit into your teams.

Shore-spear Fionn

Shore-Spear Fionn

Shore-spear Fionn is a Void Rare Attack Champion with a kit focused on Turn Meter control and Decrease SPD.

For a Rare Champion, there is a surprising amount packed into his skills.

His A1 attacks one enemy twice. Each hit decreases the target’s Turn Meter by 5% if they are under Decrease SPD. That gives him a 10% Turn Meter reduction from his basic attack against the right target.

His A2 attacks all enemies twice. The first hit has up to a 75% chance to remove one random buff. The second hit has a 100% chance once booked to place the 30% version of Decrease SPD.

AoE Decrease SPD is already useful for an early-game Rare, but his A3 gives him a much stronger single-target control option. Fionn attacks one enemy and has a 100% chance once booked to decrease their Turn Meter by 50%. He then places the 50% version of Ensnare.

This smaller version of Ensnare reduces Turn Meter gained from Turn Meter fill effects by 50%. It is an unusual debuff to find on a Rare Champion and adds another layer to Fionn’s control kit.

Fire Knight stands out as one of his better early-game destinations. Fionn brings multi-hit attacks, Decrease SPD, buff removal, and a large Turn Meter reduction. Several of those tools directly help against the Fire Knight.

Dark Fae is another possible home. Turn Meter control carries plenty of value there, and Fionn has several ways to slow the fight down.

Faction Wars gives him another use. Ensnare can shut down enemy Turn Meter gains, with Decrease SPD and direct Turn Meter reduction adding more control.

Fionn is still a Rare, so expectations need to stay realistic. Yet this is a useful progression kit. Newer players lacking dedicated Turn Meter Champions could get plenty of work from him.

Unblinking

Unblinking

Unblinking is an Epic HP Champion with high defensive stats and a mixture of wave control, Shields, healing support, and Heal Reduction.

Her A1 attacks one enemy and has up to a 75% chance to place Heal Reduction. This debuff has gained more PvE uses through newer bosses, giving a simple A1 more value than it once had.

Encounters such as Amius, Mimic, and Spirit Guardian all give Heal Reduction a clear job. That immediately gives Unblinking some specialised boss value.

Her A2 is aimed more towards wave content. It attacks all enemies and has up to a 75% chance to place Block Active Skills for two turns.

Unblinking then places a Shield on all allies equal to 15% of her MAX HP. The Shield grows by another 5% of her MAX HP for each Block Active Skills debuff placed by the skill.

The 75% placement chance stops this from being a fully reliable control skill. It still gives Unblinking useful progression value in Faction Wars, Doom Tower waves, and Grim Forest encounters. She can disrupt enemy skills and protect her team at the same time.

Her A3 is the more unusual part of her kit. Unblinking restores 50% of any destroyed MAX HP on all allies, then equalises their HP to the level of the ally with the highest remaining HP. She gains an Extra Turn after using the skill.

The Extra Turn is arguably the most interesting part. It helps her cycle back towards her A2 faster, giving her better access to Block Active Skills and Shields during longer encounters.

The destroyed MAX HP restoration sounds powerful, but there is an important limitation. She only restores 50% of the amount currently destroyed. She cannot completely restore an ally’s destroyed MAX HP through repeated uses.

That makes the mechanic less impactful than Champions capable of completely restoring destroyed MAX HP. The HP equalisation still provides useful recovery, particularly across a team that has taken uneven damage.

Her passive reduces damage received from enemy default skills by 20%. It is fairly situational since Unblinking has no built-in Provoke or Taunt to direct those attacks towards herself.

Unblinking looks like a solid progression Epic rather than a Champion players will build entire teams around. Her combination of wave control, Shields, Heal Reduction, and HP equalisation gives newer accounts several useful tools from one Champion.

Theimios the Everdrinker

Theimios_the_Everdrinker_skills

Theimios the Everdrinker is the main attraction from this group and the Legendary Champion at the centre of the upcoming Fusion.

Theimios is a Force Support Champion from the Argonites. His kit revolves around Poison, Provoke, buff removal, and his unusual Evade passive.

His base HP is lower than you might expect from a Champion designed to draw enemy attacks. His other base stats give him more room to work. He has good Speed alongside respectable DEF, RES, and ACC.

His A1 attacks all enemies twice, with each hit carrying a chance to place Provoke. Two attempts across every enemy give Theimios a useful control tool for wave content and PvP.

His A2 removes all buffs from all enemies before placing three 5% Poison debuffs. Theimios then places a Shield on himself, with its value increasing based on the number of debuffs present across the enemy team.

AoE buff removal followed by three Poisons gives the skill value in several areas. The Poisons feed directly into his passive too, which is where his kit starts to come together.

His A3 places Increase ACC and Perfect Veil on his allies. Theimios receives Increase ACC but does not receive Perfect Veil. He then gains an Extra Turn.

Leaving Theimios as the only visible target helps direct single-target attacks towards him. His passive gives him a base 15% chance to Evade enemy skills. That chance increases by 5% for every Poison debuff on the enemy team, up to 65%.

Every successful Evade activates one tick of each Poison on the attacker. Failed Evades still have value, with Poisons on the attacker gaining another turn of duration.

This creates a clear loop. Theimios strips buffs and applies Poisons. His team gains Perfect Veil. Enemies then have fewer targets available and are pushed towards attacking Theimios. His Poisons raise his Evade chance, and successful Evades trigger more Poison damage.

His lower HP creates a question around how durable he will feel against harder content, particularly in solo builds. His Shield, Speed, defensive stats, and Evade mechanic give him several ways to compensate.

There is damage potential here too. His attacks scale from ATK, and triggering Poison damage through repeated Evades opens some interesting possibilities with effects that interact with Poison damage.

Theimios has the most testing potential of these three Champions. PvP looks interesting through Provoke, buff removal, Perfect Veil, and Evade. PvE opens several other possibilities through Poison activation, solo builds, and encounters where repeated buff removal carries value.

Final Thoughts

This is a smaller Champion release than some of the recent patches, but all three Champions have something useful in their kits.

Shore-spear Fionn is better than his Rare status first suggests. AoE Decrease SPD, Turn Meter reduction, multi-hit attacks, and Ensnare give him a good collection of progression tools. Fire Knight and Dark Fae look like natural places to try him.

Unblinking is less exciting but still practical. Block Active Skills and Shields give her wave utility, and Heal Reduction opens several boss matchups. Her destroyed MAX HP restoration has clear limits, so the HP equalisation and Extra Turn cycling look like the more useful parts of her A3.

Theimios is where things get much more interesting. His entire kit feeds into the Poison and Evade mechanic, and his ability to draw attacks towards himself creates plenty of room for experimentation.

We will learn much more once Theimios receives proper Fusion testing. For now, he looks like the Champion with the highest ceiling from this release, with Fionn and Unblinking serving as useful stepping stones during the Fusion.
