Lanthe Information
Legends say, in the deepest shade of the Moonlight Forest, there is a mirror-like pool wherein Moon is said to hide when Sun, her husband, walks the sky. In truth, she who dwells in the lake is not Moon, but Lanthe, the first Sylvan Seer grown by the Wood in centuries. She is the personification and expression of the Wood’s hopes, fears, and desire for action. Beyond the forest’s edge, the Void is rising, and the Wood has called forth its avatar to take part in the war that fast approaches.
When Lanthe emerged from her chrysalis, fully formed and blazing with the Forest’s vitality, she declared that the Moonlight Clan must end its long isolation. Only a bare few heeded her. When she warned that change was coming, most ignored her. Change is always coming, they said, no matter what the Clan does. Why take action now? When she lamented the elves had forgotten their role as protectors and mentors to other races, all dismissed her. How could the Clan protect the Lateborn from themselves? Weeping emerald tears, Lanthe chose to seek less complacent allies.
Immersing herself in the pool at the heart of the Forest, Lanthe became one with its prodigious consciousness and was able to project her Thoughts far beyond the borders of both her body and even those of the Moonlight Forest. Something called to her, resonating with a memory of the ancient Wood, of an elder race opposed to the Void. Following it, Lanthe found the Void Hunters and now her spirit battles beside them, though her physical body still resides in the pool. However, to fight she must step from the spirit into the physical world, and in that brief span she is as vulnerable as any of her companions.
