Zenless Zone Zero: Is Qingyi Worth Pulling?

Qingyi is an S-rank Electric stun agent and the first exclusive channel agent of patch 1.1 in Zenless Zone Zero.

Qingyi received a surprise buff just before her release, so be careful of any agent reviews that were based on early access. These buffs mean that Qingyi now brings high daze, decent damage, and a staggering 80% increase to the stun multiplier, making her the undisputed best stun agent in the game for every team, even rivalling Lycaon for the Ice team.

Another key aspect to Qingyi is that she is very flexible in her teambuilding, since she can team up with ANY Attack agent or NEPS agent to unlock her Additional Ability, rather than being limited to only her element (electric) or faction like other agents. This means that she can be used with any attack agent in the game!

Qingyi’s best team will be Qingyi, Nicole, Zhu Yuan.

The Power of Stun

To understand why Qingyi’s bonuses stun multiplier is so strong, let’s look at how stun multipliers work in ZZZ. Elite enemies, for example, usually take 150% extra damage when they are stunned. Lycaon was previously the only agent who could increase this stun muliplier, upping it by 35% to 185% extra damage. After her buff, Qingyi can now increase this multiplier by 80%, increasing the bonus damage a stunned elite would take from 150% to 230%, which works out as a roughly 33% total damage boost against stunned enemies for your team.

As you can see, this is a massive increase and will work very well for burst damage agents such as Zhu Yuan, Corin, or Anton who can use all their resources quickly while enemies are stunned. Qingyi will want to spend a lot of time as your active agent to build up this stun bonus, so she won’t be as strong when paired with damage agents who also want to spend a lot of time active, such as Grace.

Qingyi vs Anby

The biggest question when it comes to Qingyi is how she compares to Anby. Thanks to the buff she received just before her release in game, Qingyi is now a clear upgrade to Anby and will perform better than her in almost every scenario.

That said, Qingyi doesn’t come for free, so is it worth spending your polychrome for her when you can run Anby instead?

In our opinion, Qingyi is worth it if your favourite teams are the traditional “Attack, Stun, Support” teams, especially if Anby if your only other stun agent. Qingyi will also likely be the best stun agent for these team comps for a very long time.

If you are more flexible in the teams you enjoy, or if you already have other stun agents such as Lycaon or Koleda, then Qingyi is more of a luxury pull. She will definitely increase your team’s performance, but Anby is perfectly viable too.

Exclusive Channel A-ranks: Billy and Corin

Billy and Corin are the two A-rank agents boosted on Qingyi’s banner. This is quite a poor banner since both options are A-rank physical attack agents and you should only build one of them, meaning half of your A-rank pulls could be wasted. On top of this, Nekomata also directly competes as a standard S-rank physical attack agent, not to mention S-rank attack agents such as Zhu Yuan.

If you do intend to use the two A-ranks then Corin is better overall, but it could be awkward to build a good team with her if you don’t have Rina to activate Corin’s additional ability, since no physical support agent exists in the game.

Billy is not a particularly strong agent, but you could make a good team with Billy, Qingyi, and Nicole if you do not have Zhu Yuan or if enemies are resistant to Ether damage.

In short, both A-rank options are viable but are already outclassed by S-rank alternatives.

IS IT WORTH PULLING FOR QINGYI?

In our opinion, it is worth pulling for Qingyi if any of the following apply:

  1. You like playing with burst damage attack agents.
  2. You own Zhu Yuan.
  3. You only have one stun agent.
  4. You want to focus on Electric attack agents in the future.

In our opinion, it might not be worth pulling for Qingyi if:

  1. You already have two stun agents.
  2. You didn’t pull for Zhu Yuan.
  3. You prefer high field time damage dealers to bursty damage dealers.
  4. You are going to pull for Jane Doe, who has Seth and Anby boosted on her channel.
