Devious Path Event Offers Guaranteed Varkos
Plarium has announced a brand-new Devious Path Event coming to RAID: Shadow Legends on Thursday, July 16, giving players the opportunity to earn the new Legendary Champion Varkos Headsplitter alongside several valuable rewards.
Like other Hero’s Path events, this Devious Path allows players to progress through multiple methods, this time by collecting Artifacts and Accessories or by summoning Champions, giving flexibility depending on how you’ve been preparing your resources.
Devious Path Event Rewards
The headline reward is Varkos Headsplitter, with additional premium rewards available throughout the path, including:
- Varkos Headsplitter (Legendary Champion)
- 5★ Perfect Soul for Varkos Headsplitter
- Varkos Headsplitter Avatar
- Twysted Horns of various rarities for crafting Relics in the Forge
The event will remain live for 96 hours (4 days).
How to Earn Points

Players can progress through the Devious Path by:
- Getting Artifacts and Accessories
- Summoning Champions from Shards
This combination makes it similar to previous Path-style events, allowing players to split their progress between farming gear and opening shards.
Is Varkos Headsplitter Worth It?

Early testing suggests Varkos Headsplitter is a strong Arena-focused damage dealer with several unique mechanics that make him particularly effective in the current PvP meta.
His kit offers:
- Powerful multi-hit attacks
- Excellent synergy with Counterattack and Ally Attack teams
- The ability to ignore defensive mechanics such as Block Damage and Unkillable
- Block Revive potential when defeating enemies through counterattacks or ally attacks
- Strong performance in slower, defensive Arena compositions
While he should also perform well against certain bosses thanks to his repeated hits, his greatest value appears to be in competitive PvP rather than PvE.
Final Thoughts
This Devious Path Event looks set to become one of the biggest shard-spending events of the summer. If you’ve been saving Sacred Shards or other summoning resources, Varkos Headsplitter could be a worthwhile target, especially for players looking to strengthen their Arena roster.
With the event running for four days, there’s also a good chance additional summon events will overlap, giving players more opportunities to maximise their shard value. We’ll update you as soon as Plarium announces any accompanying summon events.
