Free to Play 2025 – How to get involved

We are excited to announce that the HH Gaming team will once again be hosting a Free to Play Event that will be starting on Friday, 10th January at 8 pm UTC – Get ready for Free to Play 2025!

This is our third annual event that brings in a huge amount of the community to battle it out on the grand stage, only this time, it’s bigger and better with some changes to how things will work!

In this article we’re going to break down the event, the changes we’ve made, as well as how to get involved and sign up to participate!

Last year we restricted the use of any Legendaries or Mythical Champions acquired from Shards, or referral programs – Fusions however, were allowed, along with Rathalos Blademaster who was obtainable from a 7-day Log-in event at the time.

This year, we’ve opened up the use of Legendary and Mythical Champions acquired from all sources (Except for Referral Programs, you cannot create additional referral accounts to acquire Djamarsa or Crohnam).

Last year we also split the creators into a large amount of 5-man teams, which worked incredibly well in the opening weeks, but this system dropped off after the initial hype as some creators dropped out leading to certain teams being inactive and unable to compete.

This year we are splitting the creator pool into 2 teams, each with a large amount of contributors, however, the scoring will be adjusted to an equal amount of creators per team, meaning when the inevitable drop-off happens and we lose a few players, it will not impact the scoring system.

Just like in previous years, Hellhades will be hosting a launch stream at 8 pm UTC, Friday 10th January, this will commence the start of the Free to Play 2025 Event, join him live and cheer him on as he progresses through the initial few hours of his accounts journey!

The involvement of the community and other content creators is so important, and so exciting in these events.

It’s always so exciting to see returning and new players blasting through the leaderboards, setting records that are truly insane, and keeping everyone on their toes and eager to beat each other. We see the use of Champions that are unique, rarely used or even thought of to be pretty poor in situations that you’d never expect due to the limited availability of Champions during these challenges, you have to get creative!

As always we will run and maintain a leaderboard for both Community AND Content Creators, so you will be able to track your and others’ progress and see how you fare against each other.
