HOW MUCH DAMAGE DO THE ASSASSINS DO?
With the Assassin’s Creed collaboration landing in RAID: Shadow Legends, one of the biggest questions is simple: do these champions actually hit hard, or are they mostly utility picks?
Based on early test server damage testing across all five assassins — Bayek, Edward Kenway, Ezio, Basim, and Kassandra — the answer is mixed. Most of the lineup sits in a fairly similar damage range, but two champions clearly stand out:
- Kassandra delivers extremely high single-target damage
- Basim is the strongest AoE damage dealer of the group
Below is a full breakdown of how the testing was done, what the numbers looked like, and what they suggest for live-server performance.
How the Damage Was Tested (So the Numbers Make Sense)

Testing was done on Doom Tower Hard, Floor 111, using a consistent setup designed to keep comparisons fair. The same general gear set was used across all five assassins, with a small adjustment for Bayek due to his DEF-based scaling. Masteries were intentionally kept neutral to avoid inflated damage from procs or RNG effects, and blessings were swapped to options that wouldn’t meaningfully boost damage. No relics were used during testing.
One major limitation is that, because this is a new faction on the test server, none of the assassins had access to accessories, which can significantly affect both damage and overall performance. For AoE comparisons, damage was primarily measured using hits into Sir Nicholas (Void) to reduce affinity skew. A modern damage dealer, Tholin Foulbeard, was also included as a baseline reference to show what solid contemporary damage output looks like under the same conditions.
Baseline Reference: Tholin’s Damage

Tholin provides a useful point of comparison for a strong but reasonable modern nuker:
- A1 (AoE): ~19,000
- A2 (Double-hit ST, ignores DEF): ~49,000
- A3 (AoE): ~34,000
Many of the assassins land close to these numbers, which helps highlight who truly overperforms and who does not.
Kassandra: The Standout for Single-Target Damage

Kassandra was the biggest surprise of the testing — and by far the most impressive when it comes to single-target burst. Even without accessories, her numbers were consistently high, largely because she brings her own setup through buffs and debuffs.
Her A1 (triple hit) was already hitting around 39,000 without her Shatter buff, climbing slightly higher once buffed. The real damage spike comes from her A2, which jumped from roughly 60–70k without Decrease DEF to around 118k once Decrease DEF was applied. With her Shatter buff active, that same skill reached approximately 154,000 damage.
The most important takeaway is that Kassandra’s damage is both front-loaded and consistent, not reliant on long ramp mechanics. She also has the potential to turn her A1 into a six-hit attack when under 50% HP, suggesting her sustained single-target damage could be even higher in real scenarios. For PvE bosses in particular, her ceiling looks extremely high.
Basim: The Best AoE Damage Dealer

Basim clearly leads the pack when it comes to AoE output. While his single-target damage is solid rather than explosive, his wave-clearing potential stands out immediately.
His A1 landed around 27,000, similar to several others, while his A3 hit for roughly 45,000 with only minimal buff scaling applied. This is important because that skill scales with buffs on Basim and buffs or debuffs on enemies, meaning it can hit significantly harder in optimised setups.
Basim’s A2 AoE was the most impressive part of his kit. Without Perfect Veil, it already outperformed most other AoEs. With Perfect Veil active, it was hitting ~40,000 into Sir Nicholas, making it the hardest-hitting AoE among the assassins in this test. Combined with extra turns and DEF-ignore mechanics, Basim looks like the most reliable AoE damage option of the group.
Ezio: Serviceable but Unspectacular Damage

Ezio’s damage profile landed firmly in the “fine, but not exciting” category. His A1 hovered around 25,000, his AoE landed in the high 20k range into Sir Nicholas, and his A3 (Hidden Gun) hit for around 60,000.
Those numbers aren’t bad, but they don’t push him ahead of the pack. Ezio’s value is likely to come more from his overall kit and utility rather than raw damage output.
Bayek: Consistent, Middle-of-the-Pack Output

Bayek’s testing required slight stat adjustments due to his DEF-based scaling, but the end result was very similar to Ezio and several others. His damage generally landed around 25,000, with AoE hits into Sir Nicholas sitting near 27,000.
He doesn’t stand out as a damage carry, but he also doesn’t fall behind. Bayek appears to be a steady and consistent contributor, whose overall value will likely depend more on team synergy than on pure numbers.
Edward Kenway: Massive Utility, Underwhelming Damage

Edward was the biggest disappointment from a damage perspective. Despite looking incredible on paper, his raw numbers were noticeably low unless his conditional damage bonus was active.
His A1 triple hit landed at just ~19,000 without Ensnare, which is extremely poor. His A2 AoE was around 26,000, similar to Ezio but not better, and his A3 (Between the Eyes) hit for about 44,000.
Edward can gain 20% bonus damage when Ensnare is applied, which helps close the gap, but that condition won’t always be available — especially when trying to snipe key PvP targets through Stoneskin. As a result, Edward looks like a champion who trades damage for extreme utility rather than a true nuker.
Final Notes: Why These Numbers Might Change on Live
Based on these results:
- Best Single Target: Kassandra
- Best AoE: Basim
- Mid-Tier Damage: Ezio and Bayek
- Lowest Damage: Edward (unless Ensnare is consistently active)
Outside of Kassandra, most of the assassins clustered into a very similar damage band when tested under equal conditions.
These results should be viewed as an early snapshot rather than a final verdict. Missing accessories alone can noticeably impact damage and consistency, and live-server builds will benefit from optimised masteries, blessings, and full gearing. Some assassins also scale heavily with conditions — such as Basim’s buff and debuff interactions or Edward’s Ensnare bonus — which means their real performance will depend on how reliably those conditions are met in actual gameplay.
Even with those caveats, two conclusions were clear from testing: Kassandra’s single-target damage ceiling is extremely high, and Basim stands out as the strongest AoE damage dealer among the Assassin’s Creed champions.
