Plarium has released information on an upcoming Fusion Event that will kick off on Tuesday 4th October, which could potentially be the 2022 Halloween Fusion, however, due to its release date, it’s more than likely that we will see ANOTHER Fusion towards the back end of October that will officially be the 2022 Halloween Fusion Event – meaning this month is going to incredibly resource intensive for everybody who decides to partake in these events.

Of course, we are usually only used to doing 1 fusion a month, but if you look back, there have been multiple back-to-back fusions, such as Harvest Jack and Brakus the Shifter in 2019.

Fusion Champion:

Name: Maranix
Faction: Dark Elves
Affinity: Force
Rarity: Legendary
Type: ATK

Plarium’s thoughts on Maranix:

Maranix is a Champion that is aimed to be a force in PvP and PvE waves content. Also, her skillset can make her viable for Hydra. Her kit is greatly influenced by a recently buffed Hex debuff.

With the A1, she attacks 1 enemy 2 times. If the target is under Hex debuff, Maranix has a 50% chance to deal two additional hits. This chance works separately for each additional hit. So, if you’re lucky enough, you can deal up to 4 hits with the same damage multiplier.

With the help of the A2, Maranix attacks all enemies, and places Decrease DEF and Hex debuffs on them. Both debuffs will be of great help when dealing with PvE waves, Arena teams, and Hydra to bring some additional damage. Of course, if you don’t want to build this Champion with Accuracy, you can focus on her damage build and pair her with another Hex Champ like Mithrala Lifebane to place Hex instead of Maranix.

Using the A3, Maranix attacks all enemies and ignores Unkillable and Shield buffs if targets are under Hex debuff. This skill should be a good remedy against Champs with built-in Unkillable mechanics, Swift Parry, and Bolster Artifact Sets.
As a reward for killing an enemy with this skill, Maranix gets an Unkillable buff:
– for 1 turn, if kills an enemy with no Hex debuff;
– for 2 turns, if kills an enemy under Hex debuff.

Maranix‘s Passive skill resets the cooldown of the A3 if she kills an enemy under Hex debuff with any of her skills. So, in case you go through the A2-A3 cycle and kill an enemy under Hex debuff, you’ll have another AoE attack ready to use.

Moreover, Maranix‘s ATK will be increased by 5% for each enemy under Hex debuff.

On first read through this champion feels a little underwhelming. If her multipliers are good I guess she could be pretty decent, but utilizing a seldom seen mechanic in Hex feels like it’s limiting her a little. Regardless, my fairly young account is in dire need of some damage so I will likely be going for her. Hopefully this fusion isn’t super intensive.

“We’re kind of overrun with dark elves” … and force champs, and force attack champs. I’m open to being proven wrong, but so far this looks like a possible skip and just prep for Halloween. That said, they really are pushing hex/bombs, and, my personal thoughts on it aside, ignoring their focus is probably a mistake in the long run.

If the A2 gave her an extra turn I think she would be a lot better. Then you would need to fit acc into her build, but wouldn’t need to find a dec def, hex, inc atk and tm fill. Could be in a Mithrala team thanks to the reset, but probably a skip for me, as I already have Rae. Could have insane multipliers, but I will likely skip. I’m also saving my ancients for a guaranteed event (73 atm), and otherwise have 4k mysteries and eleven voids. I would like to keep 10 voids for a possible guaranteed Coldheart, and I hate pulling mysteries for fusions.

You really want her to setup herself/have a Mithrala.

Maybe superfluous, but I could really use a DE nuker, so I’m in…but I haven’t skipped a fusion yet, so I may not be thinking rationally

Also really love the possibilities of an A3 loop with her passive. Lay hex with A2, kill a mob with A3, passive resets A3, rinse and repeat

I’m hoping that her kit seems just a little lacking because her multipliers are quite good. I really need a good arena nuker.

You might not always be able to get away with hp burn, hex will definitely be very important in futur content, plus she brings def down and most probably also a lot of damage, having to cycle 2 turn per round can also be very helpful with cycling cooldown to be ready for next round. All of this might not make sense for 100% of the players, especially end game people, but I wouldnt be surprise to see harder content get released, dungeon 30 isnt out of question

What does hp burn have to do with this? And if anyone goes for this champ for some “new endgame hex boss”, Mithrala exists. Harder content would make this champ worse, as nukers are already bad aginst 25 and dt hard. Overall I think it’s a decent champion, but not worth it for most midgame and later accounts. Dark elves is a quite easy fw, and there are better free to get hex champs. I don’t get what you mean with “having to cycle 2 turn per round”, but that’s never a good thing. It either makes it slower or unusable. Dec down is the most abundant debuff in the game, and you don’t want your nuker bringing it. For late game content you need 400+ acc, and you can’t really get lots of damage, and acc, and speed, and survivability. Also, hex is still fairly useless. It spreads a little bit of damage, that’s it. everyone treats it like it’s gamechanging, but if you hit for 100k aoe you will deal 10 K MORE. THAT’S NOTHING! High hard dt waves have like 150-300 k health, and so much defense and passives that you won’t be hitting for 100k against them. This champ is aimed at newer players, and is never going to be great in late game content, no matter what they do with hex.

If you have Thylessia she’s not needed for FW.

I am probably going to go for this fusion because i am in dire need of an arena nuker and basically a nuker in general. I am interested to see what the multipliers are because I think that any champ that has a ignore shield/unkillable mechanic must have good multipliers e.g Genbo, Yannica and Mountain King.

Multipliers are… decent. Not great, but solid.

This is perfect for my PvP set up, I wish however in lieu of the hex it was similar to Astraliths HP swap, you have no idea how handy that gets with a swift parry gearset. this is one fusion event i will actually try at.
