The Ultimate Epics For Hard Faction Wars – Banner Lords!

Hard Faction Wars has arrived in Teleria for those who have already claimed Lydia the Deathsiren as the ultimate reward for 3-starring all the stages in Normal difficulty. Now, the quest continues for the latest Faction Wars reward, Polara Fireheart – a Mythical champion from the Sacred Order. Along the way, you’ll earn some impressive milestone rewards as you push through these new stages. In this series of articles, we’ll be spotlighting some of the MVP Epic champions you should consider for each faction.

This new Hard Mode adds extra challenges to earn those 3-star clears: 1 star for simply completing the stage, 2 stars for finishing with 5 champions without losing anyone, and a final 3rd star for completing the unique stage condition. The Epics we’re featuring here range from top-tier powerhouses to those who fill a niche role – sometimes perfectly suited for tackling specific stage conditions, and sometimes offering broad utility that can cover multiple requirements.

You’ll also come across a stage that requires you to beat it using at least 3 Epic champions – so even if you have Meta Legendaries for most stages, these Epics will still find a place in your team for that challenge. Let’s dive into some of the best Epic champions from the Banner Lords!

Most Valuable Players

Archmage Hellmut

Throughout the stages, there are requirements to place Stun debuffs and manipulate Turn Meters – two things that Archmage can do. Most players competing in Hard difficulty will already have access to this Epic from the Doom Tower, and he’s a solid, universal choice for both buffs and control. He brings Increase Speed, Crit Rate, and Crit Damage buffs, with an AOE chance to Stun or reduce the Turn Meter of enemies not affected. On top of that, his A1 gives him a self Turn Meter boost.

Ursala the Mourner

Ursala has stood the test of time as one of the best Epic support options in the game, and for good reason. She can place Decrease Attack on enemies to reduce incoming damage, while also boosting your allies damage with Increase Attack. Revival is always crucial for those tough stages, and Ursala can bring back all dead allies, while placing Increase Defence and Strengthen buffs to help sustain the team. On top of that, her A1 can help with Turn Meter manipulation.

Stag Knight

Both Decrease Attack and Decrease Defence are crucial debuffs, helping you reduce the damage your team takes while boosting the damage you deal to enemies. Stag Knight enables both of these effects in a single skill, making him a valuable addition to many of your teams as you climb the stages. His passive is also helpful: whenever an ally has a debuff resisted, he places a 50% Increase Accuracy buff on them. This helps that ally land their debuffs on their next turn, especially against high-resistance enemies. On top of that, his A1 applies Decrease Speed, slowing down targets while dealing solid damage across his skills.

Giscard the Sigiled

This faction doesn’t have many champions who can place Provoke as an AOE, with only champions like Seneschal & Sigmund the Highshield able to do it. That’s what earns Giscard a spot on the MVP list – he has a solid chance to land Provoke on all enemies, while also placing Increase Defence and Increase Attack buffs on allies. This is a great combo for enhancing your allies damage, sustaining the team, and most importantly, meeting the 3-star requirements on stages that need Provoke.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Lady Annabelle

She can apply a Leech debuff to all enemies, making her perfect for stages where you need to hit targets under this effect. The only other champion in this faction with an AOE Leech is Minaya, who’s a Legendary.

Gerhard the Stone

He’s a strong single-target damage dealer, especially useful for the stage that requires you to reduce an enemy’s HP by 50% with one skill if you’re missing stronger options. He also has a chance to Stun with his A1.

Eolfrig

He’s great for Turn Meter manipulation stages thanks to his ability to fill the Turn Meter of all allies and place Increase Attack to boost damage. He can also remove Decrease Attack from your team, steal random buffs from enemies, and apply Continuous Heal for extra support.

Seneschal

Like Giscard, Seneschal can place Provoke on all enemies, though it’s on a 4-turn cooldown. In later stages, make sure he’s taking enough turns before each round or rely on sets like Relentless or Reflex to get this skill ready before clearing waves. Beyond that, he can place Leech with his A1 and provides Perfect Veil and Continuous Heal to a single ally.
