July brings 9 new Champions to RAID

The latest RAID: Shadow Legends test server build has added nine new champions, led by the Scared Order Mythical Heinrik Demondoom. This batch of champions includes a bunch of Legendaries, some with a debuff-heavy focus, one Epic healer, and one Rare.

Heinrik Demondoom looks like a strong dual-purpose Champion that can both control and protect a team. Celendiel the Opal Guardian looks like a they have a potentially hard hitting A2. Haggibah the Nestmaid is the fusion with a nasty Bomb/HP Burn kit. Aria the Golden Hope rounds things out with a striking visual.

Heinrik Demondoom Base Form

Heinrik Demondoom Base

Heinrik Demondoom’s base form is control-focused built around Turn Meter manipulation and debuffs. His base kit punishes enemies already under control effects and can chain Turn Meter swings in his team’s favor.

His A1 hits one enemy twice, decreasing their Turn Meter by 10% per hit, or 20% per hit if the target is under Stun, Sleep, Sheep, Fear, True Fear, Provoke, Freeze, or Petrification. His A2 attacks all enemies, placing a 1-turn Stun and a 2-turn 30% Decrease SPD, ignoring Block Debuffs on targets with 50% or more Turn Meter. His A3 places Increase SPD and Increase ACC on all allies for 2 turns and steals 50% Turn Meter from every enemy.

His passive fills his own Turn Meter by 10% whenever an enemy receives Stun, Sleep, Sheep, Fear, True Fear, Provoke, Freeze, or Petrification, and fills an ally’s Turn Meter by 10% whenever that ally attacks an enemy already under one of those debuffs. This base form looks pretty decent, but Stoneskin and Total Guard will still stop some of what he’s trying to do.

Heinrik Demondoom Alternate Form

Heinrik Demondoom alternate

Heinrik’s alternate form shifts him into a protective support build centred on Ally Protection and damage mitigation.

His A1 attacks one enemy with a guaranteed True Fear for 1 turn. His A2 attacks all enemies, placing a 2-turn 60% Decrease DEF and 50% Decrease ATK that cannot be resisted or blocked if the target is already under Stun, Sleep, Sheep, Fear, True Fear, Provoke, Freeze, or Petrification. His A3 places a 50% Ally Protection buff on all allies except himself, also places a 30% Reflect Damage and 50% Increase RES buff on allies, and a Stone Skin buff on himself, all for 2 turns.

His passive heals him for 10% of his MAX HP whenever an ally attacks while under Ally Protection, and has a 25% chance to Stun an enemy for 1 turn whenever an enemy attacks an ally under Ally Protection.

This alternate form is more focused on keeping the team alive more than control, with the A3 being particularly strong. The two forms balance between offense-minded Turn Meter control and defense-minded team protection, giving Heinrik flexibility depending on the fight.

Celendiel the Opal Guardian

Celendiel Opal Guardian

Celendiel the Opal Guardian is a Legendary Defense Champion. There kit is a mix of DEF-ignoring damage and immunity to control and some debuffs.

The A1 attacks one enemy, repeating against a random enemy on counterattack, with a 50% chance of an unresistable 1-turn Stun. The A2 places a 60% Increase DEF buff on all allies and a 15% Shatter buff on themself before attacking, ignoring 25% of the target’s DEF (50% if that target is under Increase DEF, Decrease DEF, Strengthen, Stun, Fear, or True Fear). The A3 attacks all enemies with an extra hit against any target under any of the aforementioned buffs or debuffs, ignores enemy Increase DEF and Strengthen, and increases damage taken per buff/debuff on the target by 5% (up to 100%). It also places Unkillable on all allies for 1 turn and Counterattack on all allies for 2 turns.

The passive makes them immune to Decrease DEF, Fear, and Stun, and automatically triggers her A2 (without cooldown) whenever an enemy tries to land one of those debuffs on her.

Celendiel looks just ok. The likelihood of getting the damage increase on the A3 to 100% seems slim, and ignoring Increase DEF and Strengthen also feels strange. The free A2 triggers from her passive feels nice though.

Haggibah the Nestmaid (July Fusion)

Haggibah the Nestmaid

Haggibah the Nestmaid is a Legendary HP Champion built around HP Burn and Bombs, with a passive that punishes enemies for trying to control her.

Her A1 attacks one enemy with a 75% chance of a 2-turn HP Burn, then places a 1-turn Perfect Veil on herself. Her A2 attacks all enemies, instantly detonating all Bombs and triggering one tick of all HP Burn debuffs on every enemy, then has a 75% chance of placing a 2-turn Leech. Her A3 steals all buffs from every enemy, then has a 75% chance to place two Bombs on each enemy that detonate after 2 turns (or after 1 turn instead, against enemies with no buffs to steal).

Her passive makes her immune to HP Burn and Bomb debuffs and immune to damage from HP Burn entirely. Whenever an enemy tries to place Stun, Freeze, Sleep, Provoke, Fear, True Fear, or Petrification on her, or tries to increase the cooldown of her skills, she places a Bomb debuff on that enemy that detonates after 1 turn and ignores Block Debuffs.

Haggibah looks like a good progression champion. Her A3 offers good utility, and her passive potentially makes her able to solo Bommal.

Vallaryn the Equalizer

Vallaryn the Equaliser

Vallaryn the Equalizer is a Legendary Attack Champion whose kit revolves around HP swapping, self sustain, and debuffs.

His A1 attacks one enemy twice, healing him for 20% of the damage dealt per hit, with each hit also carrying a 50% chance of a 2-turn 100% Heal Reduction. His A2 attacks all enemies with a 75% chance of placing a 2-turn 25% Weaken and a 2-turn Leech. His A3 attacks one enemy twice, first removing all debuffs from himself and swapping HP with the target. Will ignore 15% of the target’s DEF, or 30% ignore and Shield buffs if his current HP exceeds the target’s.

His passive cuts the cooldown of one of his skills by 2 turns whenever he loses 30% or more of his HP from an enemy skill in a single turn, and counterattacks with his default skill whenever an enemy is healed by a skill, once per turn.

Vallaryn is a free champion for all and looks like a strong anti-healer. He’ll be useful in from Spirit KeepSpiderMimicAmius and Isheth! The HP swap on his ultimate gives him a strong comeback mechanic, allowing him to potentially go from being on the brink of death, too taking the enemy’s health, being fine and then attacking for the kill.

Holguk of the Hallowsights

Holguk Hallowsights

Holguk of the Hallowsights is a Legendary Support Champion built around Hex and team revival.

His A1 attacks one enemy with an 80% chance of a 2-turn 30% Decrease C. RATE, adding a 25% Decrease C. DMG if the target is under Hex. His A2 attacks all enemies with a 75% chance to decrease enemy buff durations by 2 turns, plus a separate 75% chance to place Block Buffs and Hex on all enemies. The Hex cannot be removed, stolen or transferred. His A3 revives all dead allies at 50% HP and 50% Turn Meter, places Revive on Death on the team for 1 turn, and a Shield equal to 30% of his MAX HP on all allies for 2 turns.

His passive fills a revived ally’s Turn Meter by 50% whenever Revive on Death triggers, and drops all enemy Turn Meters by 25% whenever a enemy under Hex dies. Enemies under Hex also lose 20% Critical Rate from this passive.

Holguk’s A2 looks like a strong Hydra ability. The rest of his kit seems alright, although we have questions around the need for Decrease C. DMG when so much of his kit is reducing the chance to crit.

Xalgaze Fangwall

Xalgaze Fangwall

Xalgaze Fangwall is a Legendary HP Champion from the look of his kit, leans into punishing enemies from hitting his spikey exterior with lots of Reflect Damage. He also brings added utility with Leech and other debuffs.

His A1 attacks one enemy with a 50% chance of a 1-turn True Fear, adding a 50% chance of a 1-turn Block Active Skills if the target is already under Leech. His A2 attacks all enemies twice, ignoring 15% of each target’s DEF per hit. The first hit carries a 75% chance of a 2-turn Leech, the second a 75% chance of a 2-turn 50% Decrease RES. His A3 places a 60% Increase DEF, 50% Increase ACC, and 30% Reflect Damage buff on all allies for 2 turns.

His passive increases all Reflect Damage by 30% more damage, reflects 50% of any damage he personally receives back at the attacker, and heals him for 50% of any skill damage taken while under a Reflect Damage buff.

Xalgaze looks like a annoying reflect-damage tank, especially in PvP teams. May also be very good in Chimera bringing a lot of stuff you need for harder trials.

Xanthe Seaflower

Xanthe seaflower

Xanthe Seaflower is an Epic Support Champion with healing tied to debuff application and team RES buffs. We expect her to be required for the upcoming fusion.

Her A1 attacks one enemy with a 50% chance of a 2-turn Block Buffs. Her A2 attacks all enemies with a 75% chance per target of a 2-turn 50% Decrease ATK, healing the team by 5% of her MAX HP for each debuff successfully placed. Her A3 places a 50% Increase RES buff and a protected 15% Continuous Heal buff on all allies for 2 turns.

Her passive removes one random debuff from herself at the start of her turn, and grants herself a 7.5% Continuous Heal for 2 turns each time that happens.

As an Epic, Xanthe looks mediocre. Because her heal scales with how many Decrease ATK debuffs land, it will be great in Faction Wars, maybe amazing in spider! Shes not horrendous but not amazing either. Maybe get one copy from the Fusion if your new, but don’t feel bad for feeding them.

Horned Viper

Horned Viper

Horned Viper is a Rare Attack Champion offering debuff removal and some low level buffs/debuffs. We expect her to be required for the upcoming fusion.

The A1 attacks one enemy with a 30% chance to remove one random debuff from a random ally. Her A2 attacks one enemy twice, the first hit has a 75% chance of a 1-turn Provoke, the second a 75% chance of a 2-turn 25% Decrease ACC, then shields herself for 20% of her MAX HP for 2 turns. Her A3 places Block Debuffs on allies for 1 turn and a 25% Increase ACC buff on all allies for 2 turns.

If it turns out Horned Viper is required for the fusion. Dont feel bad about not keeping a copy. Even for newer accounts their are stronger Champions are available.

Aria the Golden Hope

Aria the Golden Hope

Aria the Golden Hope is a Legendary Champion built around Heal Reduction, debuff transfer, and buff stealing.

Her A1 attacks one enemy with a 75% chance of a 2-turn 100% Heal Reduction. The A1 automatically triggers when an enemies HP drops below 50%, applying an unresistable, unremovable, unblockable 100% Heal Reduction once per turn (only one copy of Aria can trigger this on a team). Her A2 attacks all enemies, with a 75% chance to transfer all debuffs from allies onto enemies before attacking, then places a 25% Fortify and 25% Strengthen buff on the team for 2 turns. Her A3 attacks all enemies with a 75% chance to steal all enemy buffs, plus a separate 75% chance to place a 1-turn True Fear and a 2-turn Block Passive Skills.

Her passive decreases the Turn Meters of all enemies by 5% at the start of each enemies turn, it also halves any Ignore DEF effects used against her.

Aria looks incredible visually. She also looks good on paper. The Heal Reduction is great for Spirit KeepSpiderMimicAmius and Isheth! The debuff transfer has us curious, and the buff-steal on her ultimate gives her great utility.

Which of these Champions stands out to you the most? Let us know!
