Kro’Khad the Throatripper Fusion Breakdown – Is He Worth It?
A new Fusion is landing in Raid: Shadow Legends—Kro’Khad the Throatripper—and he brings with him a devastating Hydra-focused toolkit. But here’s the twist: his true potential only comes alive when paired with Packmaster Shy’ek, a past Fusion. In this article, we’ll break down Kro’Khad’s kit, test results, and whether the duo is worth two of your Hydra slots.
What Makes Kro’Khad the Throatripper Unique?

Kro’Khad’s entire skillset is tailor-made for Hydra. Every part of his kit screams anti-Hydra utility and synergy—especially when Packmaster is on the team.
- A1: Attacks all enemies, but hits each one individually (counts as single-target for damage calculation). This is huge for Hydra since it bypasses the AoE damage penalty. Also ignores all reflect damage.
- A2: AoE attack that places an extra hit on enemies under 2+ debuffs. Places Leech and Weaken (100% when booked), and becomes irresistible if Packmaster is present—meaning no accuracy check needed, allowing for full damage builds.
- A3: Single-target nuke that ignores 50% DEF, Poison Cloud, and effects like Mischief targeting. Repeats the attack if Packmaster is present, which allows near 100% DEF ignore when combined with Savage + Helm Smasher.
- Passive: Gains 5% ATK per kill/decap up to 25% (doubles with Packmaster to 50%). Instantly activates his A3 (“Dominant Predator”) when an ally is devoured by a Hydra Head—but only if Packmaster is on the team.
The bottom line: everything is enhanced dramatically by Packmaster. Without him, Kro’Khad is solid. With him, he’s elite.
Packmaster: Essential or Deadweight?

This is where things get tricky. Shy’k the Packmaster himself isn’t top-tier in isolation:
- Taunt and Reflect Damage are largely PvP-focused.
- Irresistible Block Buffs and Turn Meter fill are good.
- Hex synergy: applies Hex on attackers and boosts ally damage by 20% against Hexed enemies.
- A1 synergy: When he uses his A1, all your Hound allies also use theirs.
So while he isn’t a strong standalone carry, he enables Kro’Khad in multiple ways:
- Makes all of Kro’Khad’s abilities hit way harder.
- Enables double hits and irresistible debuffs.
- Passively triggers Kro’Khad’s best ability (A3) when allies are devoured.
In other words, Kro’Khad is balanced around Packmaster being present.
Testing the Damage: Does it Deliver?

HellHades put him through multiple tests—solo and paired with Packmaster. The results speak for themselves:
Solo Tests:
- A1: ~300k single hit (would be ~600k with Packmaster).
- A2: ~500k per hit (would double with extra hit).
- A3: ~875k without Packmaster.
Hard Mode Dragon 10: Clears waves without drop DEF. His raw damage is top-tier.
Hydra Damage: With Packmaster, A3 hits for 1.7–2M. Passive scales quickly with kills and decaps.
Quick Battle Results:
- No Packmaster: ~337M damage.
- With Packmaster: Up to 715M.
- Compared to other top damage dealers, Kro’Khad outdamaged them when paired with Packmaster.
Even without increased ATK buffs, his damage was off the charts.
