Live Arena Season 2 – What has Changed
Season 2 for Live Arena has just launched in Raid: Shadow Legends, so in this article we will walk you through what has changed in game (spoiler warning: nothing!) and what will be changing in the types of teams you will be fighting (spoiler warning: a decent amount!).
SEASON CHANGES

This is a short section: there are no in-game changes for Season 2 of Live Arena.
This is expected, since Plarium typically operate on a 6-month development schedule, but many players (ourselves included!) will find the lack of improvements to be disappointing regardless.
META CHANGES
Although there are no changes to how Season 2 works, the additions of new champions, relics, and more will have a big impact on the types of champions and strategies you will encounter!
FABIAN
Perhaps the biggest change of season 2 is that many players will now have had time to build up the recent fusion champion, Lord Entertainer Fabian. His powerful Increase Skill Cooldown effect and ability to chain CC with his A2 make him a massive threat in any speed team.
You’ll need to be prepared to deal with both Armanz and Fabian now in the draft. For Fabian, consider magic affinity champions, high RES champions, or outspeeding him.
EMBRYS
The other big new champion for season 2 is Embrys the Anomaly, a mythical available for free from the Chimera Clan Boss. Late game players should now have him built and ready to go (though many might still lack a soul until later in the season) and he is extremely strong.
Firstly, he can remove Stoneskin buffs with 100% success, unless stopped by a weak hit against spirit affinity enemies or the buff being protected by the Lightning Cage blessing.
He’s also a very powerful form 2 damage dealer, giving many players access to a nuker who doesn’t fear lockout. Force nukers are also fairly rare, making him a good addition to many teams.
If you’re fighting Embrys, don’t use a slow team in Stoneskin. Bolster set or Reaction accessories are effective alternatives against him, and even medium RES champions might resist his debuffs (not his buff removal though–it is irresistable).
LIGHTNING CAGE
It’s probably no surprise to hear that a blessing which protects buffs is the hottest pickup for season 2, after we’ve highlighted two buff removers as the new top champions(!)
Lightning Cage has shot up in power alongside the slow fall-off of Polymorph, thanks to Pinpoint sets and the Wand of Submission relic giving huge power increases to buff removers and debuffers by blocking Polymorph attempts.
Lightning Cage is a great pick on any Stoneskin champion, and is the new go-to for most damage dealers.
WAND OF SUBMISSION
Everyone will be getting one of these relics for free on the 4th of May. This gives a very high chance to reflect CC effects (including Polymorph) back at the producer, which is insanely OP, making it the best arena relic in the game—if you’re looking to counter Armanz, here you go!
The more players who get Wands, and the more Wands players have, the further Polymorph and CC effects will fall in the meta and the more buff removal and debuffers will rise.
FUTURE POTENTIAL

On top of these certain changes, there are several upcoming possibilities to be aware of for season 2.
NEW FUSION
It’s always possible that new fusions could be strong for arena, so be prepared. (Though it’s likely that Fabian was targeted as the big arena meta fusion of 2025, like Armanz before him in 2024).
NEW EVENT DUNGEON AND RELICS
This is a big deal, since it’s been a while since the Alice’s Adventure event ended. This will likely bring several new top tier champions to the game, alongside the likely return of the Event Dungeon (and therefore, likely, Pinpoint gear).
New relics are also very likely to be part of a new event. We highly recommend stockpiling resources for this possibility already—if they’re anything like the Cat’s Gaze, expect them to be very expensive to earn, and very very powerful.
FACTION WARS HARD MODE
We know this is definitely coming after Community weeks ends, and will be bringing a new set of relics, stronger glyphs, and a new mythical champion. It’s unlikely that players will be able to get the relics or mythical in time for season 2, but you never know for sure…
