Top 10 Most Bizarre Champions in Raid: Shadow Legends!

YST and Nub Raids teamed up to talk about some of the most bizarre and unique champion skills in Raid: Shadow Legends. These range from one of a kind passives to abilities that scale off unusual stats – or even those that just sound downright terrifying. Let’s take a look at some of the champions they discussed!

SUN WUKONG

Sun Wukong is probably the most obvious pick on today’s list, but he undeniably has one of the most unique passives in the game! We’ve all had that moment in Arena where victory seemed within reach… until the Monkey King revives himself every three turns with 100% HP and Turn Meter, ready to strike again. As a powerful debuffer and damage dealer, his ability to self revive makes him insane, whether you’re in progression or tackling endgame content!

CONELLIA

YST is known for using Conellia in a variety of builds to take down almost every boss in the Doom Tower. While the change to Frenzy gear ended her solo Bommal 90 potential, she still has one of the most unusual skills in the game. Her A3 literally puts herself or an ally to sleep – which sounds far from ideal. However, when it expires, it grants a 50% Turn Meter fill and a heal, or 100% if the effect is broken by taking damage. This unique ability makes her great for soloing certain bosses or supporting allies in battles.

Urticata

Uticata has an interesting passive way of placing poison debuffs – as none of her active skills apply them directly. Instead, she pretty much turns all allies into poisoners if they land critical hits on enemies under Hex [which she can place]. Each crit hit has a 25% chance to place a Poison for 1 turn. While Hex isn’t commonly used for single target bosses like the Demon Lord, it’s enabling to get these poisons rolling. Combined with her ability to place Poison Sensitivity and extend Poison debuffs with her A1, Uticata becomes a surprisingly strong option to consider!

Frostbringer

Many players hoped Frostbringer’s buff would finally deliver some actual frost, but unfortunately, it didn’t. Despite having skills named Cone of Cold, Snow Flurry, and Arctic Winds, none of her abilities involve anything icy. This odd mismatch earns her a spot on the bizarre list. That said, she’s still a solid Epic, offering Increase Attack and Speed buffs to allies, a triple-hit attack with Decrease Defence, and a Heal Reduction on her A1.

Eviscerator

HWZ was the first creator to highlight how interesting this rare champion’s passive truly is, and it could easily inspire a similar skill for a future Legendary. Her passive allows her to attack an enemy with her default skill whenever they are healed or buffed – or a random enemy if multiple targets are affected at once. While she’s not the hardest hitter, it’s still fun to watch her frequently cut in and disrupt the enemy!

Slitherbrute

When Nub Raids explained why he added this champion to the list, both he and YST burst out laughing at the absurdity of his A3 ability. The true value of this skill remains a mystery – it decreases a target’s Turn Meter based on the number of buffs they have, but no specific percentage is mentioned. Is it 1% per buff? 10%? Nobody knows for sure! If you’ve built this champion, we’d love to hear about your experience and playtests.

Dark Athel

Dark Athel’s A3 is a skill that definitely needs a rework. It grants her a 30% Increase Speed buff when she kills 4 or more enemies, heals herself if she kills 6 or more, and gives her an extra turn after killing 10! The problem is she doesn’t hit hard enough to consistently pull this off in later stages, and to even trigger these effects, you’re limited to areas like the Spider’s Den – which is typically more effective with HP Burn or Enemy Max HP strategies. That said, she still offers utility with Decrease Speed and Decrease Defence, which can be useful in places like The Dark Fae or Hydra.

Torturehelm

This Orc has made his way into a variety of content over the years, from Dragon 20 to Clan Boss, thanks to his passive, which works like a budget version of Sun Wukong’s – reviving himself with 50% HP when killed. But that’s not why he makes this list. His kit is all over the place: his A1 scales on both ATK and DEF, while his A3 scales on HP. It’s like this champion can’t decide what he wants to be!

Flinger

Flinger doesn’t make this list for the power of his skills but for how terrifying his skill names are. His A3, called Burn, doesn’t actually place any burns, his A2 is called Meteor, and his A1 is literally Throw Axe. This Lizard must have the most dangerous weapons dealer down in the sewers of arnoc!

Steel Bowyer

Many years ago, this champion was actually nerfed due to the strength of her Enemy Max HP skill in areas like the Spider’s Den. Players might still get excited when seeing her A3, but in reality, it hits for about a quarter of what her sister Coldheart’s Heartseeker can do. With champions like Gnut and Marius now in the game, it would be great to see Steel Bowyer get a buff to her Big Game A3, bringing her in line with other champions who have similar abilities.
