Understanding the importance of Speed when progressing in Raid Shadow Legends
One of the most common mistakes we see daily in Raid Shadow Legends, particularly when it comes to helping others with account takeovers, and all over discord, is the lack of knowledge when building Champions, with the biggest offender being SPEED.
Speed is vital in every single area of the game, while progressing through the very early stages of campaign you may not think so due to being able to blitz through everything and generally being faster than the content you’re facing. But once you start branching out and getting to higher levels, you’ll find that enemy Champions are going ahead of you, unless you are gearing your Champions properly.
Speed boots are one of the most important tools we have accessible to us in this game, and all too many people avoid that fact, either opting to use % based primary stat boots OR committing the cardinal sin and using Flat stat boots!
We always recommend all players when beginning the game to farm themselves multiple pairs of 5-6* Speed boots from Campaign, in both Lifesteal and Speed sets, as these will last you a long time till you’re able to farm better versions, the key factor on these boots is the main stat, the substats you will improve over time.
Outside of the obvious with speed, allowing you to take turns in fights, it is incredibly important in various other ways, such as speed tuning, the most common places where you’ll see speed tuning is in Arena and Clan boss, which can you find more and in our other articles (check respective links)
One of the key ways to help your team, especially while your access to speed gear is limited is running with a Speed Booster, such as High Khatun or Apothecary, we have an in-depth guide on how to build a speed booster here.
If you’re avoiding/ignoring the importance of speed, the likelihood is if you push their speeds up and use the same team you’re currently running – you will likely jump ahead several progress levels.
Don’t make this mistake!
Diabolist is often forgotten when it comes to acceleration. Especially for FTP accounts. They and also the books can easily be farmed. I know many use them in Faction Wars. But even beyond that, in my opinion, she can only be replaced by Deacon or Arbiter or Legendaries that are difficult to obtain (of course Lyssandra). Personally, I prefer characters that boost and reduce turn meters at the same time. What do you all mean? Hellhades what is your opinion on this?
While Diabolist isn’t bad, High Khatun/Apoth is better in the arena, because they don’t need accuracy. Also, both these champions can do even more. Apoth (who i don’t have after 210 days) can heal and has a 3 hit A1, and High Khatun can reduce turn meter, and place decrease spd on bosses with her A1. So, I think you can use Diabolist while t.ex. waithing for books for High Khatun, I think she quickly gets replaced and only gets good again for FW.
