How Revive Works in Raid Shadow Legends

What the Revive Ability Does
Revive abilities very simply bring dead champions back to life in RAID: Shadow Legends!
A common strategy is to build very strong defenses on your Revive champions compared to damage dealers, so that if your vulnerable damage dealer dies, your Reviver will survive and be able to get your damage champion back into the fight.
Revivers are some of the most powerful and most used champions in the entire game.
Different Types of Revive Skills
There are three main types of Revive currently in the game:
- Active revives: These are the most common type of Revive. Here a champion will have an active skill which Revives an ally, often with an accompanying effect or buff. Scyl of the Drakes or Noldua the Gloaming are examples of this type of revive.
- Passive revives: These are often the most powerful type of Revive, bringing a champion or their teammates back to life through a passive ability. These are so powerful because they are very difficult to prevent. Examples include Sun Wukong or Marichka the Unbreakable.
- Revive-on-death: These are the weakest type of Revive, relying on the Revive on Death buff to bring an ally back to life. This revive is poor becuase champions come back with low HP and no Turn Meter, though some champions have passives to make them better. Examples include Cardiel and Cruetraxa.
On top of this, you also have single-target Revives, random revives, and team revives.
- A single-target Revive only revives one targetted ally. These typically have the shortest cooldowns.
- A random Revive often revives two allies at random. These are typically found on epic champions and are unreliable due to their random nature.
- A full team Revive will revive all dead allies. This is the most powerful type, but typically comes with a longer cooldown.
Why Revive Champions Are Important

Surviving Difficult Boss Battles
Many bosses in RAID: Shadow Legends have dangerous attacks which can kill squishy champions (e.g. most ATK-based damage dealers) on even a well prepared team. Some examples include:
- Ice Golem’s passive counterattacks.
- Head of Wrath’s attacks in Hydra Clan Boss.
- The Ram Form in Chimera Clan Boss.
- A tough enemy in a wave (such as Tetsuya) getting a 3% resist on your Stun and getting an attack through onto your champion.
A reviver can keep your team running by picking your squishy champions back up after they die.
Recovering From Mistakes
It’s also possible to die from mistakes–or simply bad luck–in many fights in this game. For example, maybe you didn’t notice that a head had Reflect Damage on in a Hydra battle and your damage dealer died; maybe you thought you would be safe enough to survive an attack and tried to save your Shield buff for later, but your damage dealer actually died. In these situations, a reviver makes mistakes or bad luck much less punishing and let’s a team keep going when a run might otherwise be over.
Best Revive Champions in Raid
Here we’ve listed 10 of the most important Revive champions in RAID: Shadow Legends. This list is not exhaustive, but it should steer you in the right direction for knowing what makes these types of champions so powerful! Check out our Champion Tier List for more info.
RELIQUARY TENDER

Reliquary Tender is a great accessible option for newer players. Her biggest strength is her ability to consistently remove all debuffs from your team alongside some healing. Her revive is a bit weak, but is a fantastic emergency option should one of your champions be killed during a dungeon run.
TREESHIELD KNOTT

Treeshield Knott is the best rare reviver, being the only rare who can revive two allies at once, plus some healing and shielding to help them stay alive. He’s also a Fire Knight specialist, bringing a triple hit A1 attack and an Increase DEF buff on his A2 that can combo with the Faultless Defense blessing to take lots of points off the Fire Knight’s shield.
Rector Drath

Rector Drath represents a huge step up in quality from the rare revivers, bringing a powerful single-target reviver and absolutely tons of healing to your team. She’s available to buy through the New Player Pass, and she represents the archetype of the “tanky reviver” perfectly: she stays alive, and heals and revives your team. She’s also one of the few champions who provides Perfect Veil for your team, which counters the Head of Torment in Hydra Clan Boss.
Godseeker Aniri

Godseeker Aniri is a fantastic reviver, bringing lots of healing and even some decent damage if built for it. Her best features however are her active revive on her A3, her bonus revive on her passive, and her ability to Extend Buff Duration on her A2. She opens up a sneaky strategy for Sand Devil’s Necropolis where she can revive herself with her passive, then a damage dealer with her A3 (reseting their skills), thereby “cheesing” the boss fight!
Ursala the Mourner

Ursala the Mourner brings one of the strongest revives in the entire game (legendaries and mythicals included), bringing back your entire team with not only 75% HP and 50% TM, but Increase DEF and Strengthen for THREE turns as well! Her main weakness is her total lack of healing, so you should aim to gear her in Regeneration gear or bring a strong healer alongside her.
Hilvi the Rime-called

Hilvi is a relatively new reviver who is making a big name for herself in PvP. She brings not only a very powerful revive which is viable both in a fast speed-boosting team but also in a slower go-second team, but also has fantastic control through her A2 Freezes as well. If you have Tormin, she is his partner champion, enabling him to do tons of extra damage.
Elva Autumnborn

Elva Autumnborn is available to buy in a special Pass for returning players, and is so useful that some players have been known to joke that they’d happily quit the game for a month for the opportunity to buy her! She brings consistent healing, alongside Removing Debuffs and Block Debuffs, making every team incredibly safe in PvE content. Her main downside is that her revive is only single-target, so she will struggle if multiple champions die at once.
Raglin

Raglin is a very old reviver who has seen a massive resurgance in 2026, thanks in part to her rework, and thanks in part to the new Mercurial gear set. In the Mercurial meta, Increasing Skill Cooldowns has become a crucial PvP strategy–and Raglin is immune to this effect, and can even reset ally’s skills when she revives them! She’s also unique in having a crazy 2-turn cooldown on her revive, making it the shortest single-target revive cooldown in the game.
Starsage Galathir

Arguably the best champion in the game, Starsage Galathir is a monster in his Base Form. He brings not only a full team revive, but tons of TM boosting, healing, debuff removal and Block Debuffs–everything you want from a tanky reviver. His passive pushes him to another level, making him incredibly difficult to kill (an ideal trait for your reviver!). On top of this, he has an entire Alternate Form as well… If you have him, you basically just beat RAID: Shadow Legends!
Theodosia the Disgraced

One of the big debates amongst players is whether Theodosia is better than Galathir… In our opinion, in 2026, Theodosia just about takes it. Like Galathir, her Base Form is a tanky reviver. Theodosia sets herself apart by bringing fantastic self-survivability with her Stoneskin buff on her A2, and by bringing a 2-turn Unkillable buff on her revive, making it extremely difficult to kill champions that she revives. Her Alternate Form is a powerful debuffer, with the damage-boosting passive being a very unique selling point for pushing PvE boss damage!
How to Build Revive Champions

Speed Requirements
High SPD stats are often valuable on revivers to ensure that they can revive champions ASAP after they have died, and to cycle back to revive cooldowns quickly.
Usually revivers have similar SPD to buffing champions, less than debuffing champions, and more than damage dealers. If your reviver is a hybrid of any of these roles, then their secondary role will swing their SPD builds in that direction (e.g. if your reviver is also a debuffer, they will want more SPD than usual).
Survivability Stats
A reviver cannot revive your team if they are dead! This makes survivability stats extremely valuable on revivers:
- HP is the most important stats, particularly if your reviver has abilities that scale off their HP, such as healing or shielding.
- DEF is very strong for PvE content, but is less useful in PvP since players build so much Ignore DEF on their PvP damage dealers.
- RES is optional: it is very difficult to build high RES, but if you are able to then it provides a massive survivability boost by protecting your reviver from debuffs and effects.
Note that hybrid revivers will have different requirements, e.g. if your reviver also places debuffs or negative effects, they will need ACC.
Recommended Artifact Sets
For PvE content, revivers are commonly run in sets which help them stay alive, such as Regeneration or Immortal. Reflex and Speed gear are another common build type, aiming at using abilities more often.
Higher end sets for PvE include Protection, Bolster, and Rebirth. These sets are harder to get, but provide massive benefits to your team.
For PvP content, revivers are heavily dependent on survivability sets tailored for Arena. Stoneskin, Mercurial, and Feral are common options, with some unusual builds featuring Chronophage, Deflection, or Bolster.
- Stoneskin is a classic option, providing massive protection for 1 turn at only 4 pieces, or two turns at 6 pieces.
- Mercurial is the new top option, but requires the full 9 pieces for best effect, providing a Total Guard stack every turn.
- Feral (or other similar sets) are run at 4 piece to provide the Block Debuffs buff at the start of the fight to protect against Bombs or Poisons.
Recommended Relics
There are plenty of great options for reviver relics.
- Top end mythical choices include the Chrysalid of Rebirth or the Immortal Visage–for anyone lucky enough to get one!
- High end legendary choices include the Wand of Submission for PvP or the Solmar Crystal for a surprise revive.
- Epic options include the Demonic Effigy or Perched Shadow for extra turn meter or turns.
- Even budget relics can work, such as the Journal of Necrotos for extra healing and turn meter (many revivers provide these things).

Tips for Using Revive Champions

Protect Your Reviver
Make sure to follow our advice above to ensure that your reviver can survive the incoming hits to successfully revive your team. You should also bring in other support champions who synergise with your reviver:
- If your reviver lacks healing, make sure to bring a healer.
- If your reviver cannot remove or prevent debuffs, bring a champion who can remove debuffs or has Block Debuffs.
- If your reviver struggles to keep champions alive after reviving, bring a champion with defensive buffs such as Shield or Strengthen.
For PvP or wave-based content, a good control champion (such as Fabian with Increase Skill Cooldowns) is often the best synergy with a reviver; a good offense is the best defense!
Time Revive Abilities Carefully
There’s little point in reviving a squishy champion when a boss is at a full Turn Meter–only to have the boss instantly kill your freshly revived champion once again.
During manual play, you will sometimes want to delay your revive until you can ensure your champion can stay alive:
- Consider the enemy Turn Meters and whether you will be able to go before them.
- Check that you have support champions with high TM who can protect your revived champion.
- Pick revivers with powerful defensive buffs on their revive, or who revive champions with high HP or TM.
It is usually not a good idea to delay revivers for more than one or two turns at most, but in some fights it can be the better play.
