ISHIYAMA SKILLS EXPLAINED

Ishiyama the Immovable is a HP-based damage dealer who brings some powerful self-buffs and unusual enemy debuffs, alongside a passive ability that lets him neglect the ACC stat.
A1 – Burning Comet
Transfering debuffs always removes them from you, but you must pass the ACC check to place them on enemies–this synergises well with his passive. The damage from this attack is average, but the counterattacks can add up in the long run.
A2 – Calculated Volley
This AoE attack has strong damage and always places debuffs if enemies are under 2 or more debuffs–bypassing even the usual 3% chance enemies have to resist. 25% Decrease C.DMG is decent (it is a multiplicative decrease, unlike the buff version which is additive) but 30% Decrease C.RATE is a much bigger draw, countering most PvE enemies 15% base C.RATE and the 15% bonus C.RATE from positive affinity matchups as well–in short, this can make it so that most enemies in dungeons etc. cannot ever crit your team. 2 turns of Fear is very underrated as well on such a short cooldown, enabling you to keep very good uptime on controlling your enemies, and will have a big impact in areas like Faction Wars or Cursed City.
A3 – Finish Them
This is Ishiyama’s strongest damaging move by far, ignoring up to 50% DEF if enemies are under 2 or more debuffs. Combine this with a Lethal set and the Helmsmasher mastery to potentially ignore 100% DEF and do massive damage. 2 turns of Block Damage is a crazy survivability boost as well and can make him very annoying to deal with in arena.
P1 – The Immovable
This passive essentially lets you completely neglect ACC and focus on damage and SPD instead.
It also gives some mild MAX HP scaling in longer fights, though this is nowhere near as powerful as the 100% increases we see on champions such as Ninja or Toshiro from the same faction.
Aura
A 28% HP in All Battles aura is very good in basically all content, though you would generally prefer a SPD aura if possible.
HOW TO BUILD ISHIYAMA

Best Stats
The key stats to look for on Ishiyama are:
- C.RATE to 100%
- C.DMG
- HP
- SPD
Ishiyama is primarily a HP-based damage dealer, so 100% C.RATE is essential, followed by a mix of HP and C.DMG–use the HellHades Optimiser to get the perfect balance! SPD is a fantastic stat on him as well, and you should aim to have him at mid-level SPD for your account, to ensure he can rotate through his abilities at a decent pace without sacrificing too much kill potential.
Best Gear Sets
The 5 best sets for Ishiyama are:
- Lethal
- Stoneskin
- Merciless
- Savage/Instinct
- Reaction
Essentially, we want any set that is going to give him Ignore Defence, to stack with the baseline Ignore Defence of his A3, and to massively boost his damage in general.
4-piece Lethal and 4-piece Stoneskin is the ideal combo, giving him great damage but also survivability for the arena.
6-piece Merciless is a better option if you intend to use him against PvE content instead, though supplementing it with at least 2 Reaction accessories would make it viable for arena as well.

BEST BLESSINGS AND RELICS FOR ISHIYAMA
Best Blessings
There are several great options for Blessings for Ishiyama. His 5-star soul was available from a Champion Chase Tournament, which means only very lucky (or very rich) players will have been able to snag one.
- Lightning Cage: this is by far his best option for arena, since it can protect game-changing buffs such as Stoneskin and Block Damage.
- Nature’s Wrath: this is a better option for bosses and Faction Wars, where you rarely need to protect buffs yet will be glad of the damage boost.
- Life Harvest: a niche choice for arena, since his AoE damage is a bit weak but he can easily secure a single kill with his A3 and start activating this Blessing.
Best Relics
There are several great options for Relics for Ishiyama as well.
- Wand of Submission (Legendary Standard Relic): arguably the best arena relic in the game, it gives him HP, SPD, and a high chance to reflect CC back at enemies.
- Essence Quencher (Legendary Clan Relic): this is the best damage boosting (non-mythical) relic for HP-based damage dealers.
- Valkanen’s Grasp (Epic Clan Relic): a cheeky pick for arena, this could catch enemy damage dealers by surprise due to his 2-turn Block Damage buff.
- Irethi Coronet (Epic Chimera Relic): a great budget option for Clan Bosses, which stacks with his passive.
BEST AREAS FOR ISHIYAMA

OOVerOVOverall, we’ve given Ishiyama a 4-star rating. His damage is not breaking any records, but is good enough for many teams. Likewise, his control and survivability are decent additions to several teams, particularly wave based content where enemies are vulnerable to Fear. His best areas are:
1. Arena
Due to his survivability and good damage output, Ishiyama makes for a solid HP-based arena damage dealer. He will be particularly impactful with a high level Lightning Cage blessing, as this will stop enemies from removing his Block Damage buff–and his Stoneskin buff if you gear him with it (and you should!).
2. Faction Wars
Ishiyama was definitely designed with Faction Wars Hard in mind, since he is very survivable and brings a 2-turn AoE Fear to control the enemy waves. Control is king in Faction Wars hard, and Ishiyama brings more than most damage champions in the game. It’s easy to land 2 debuffs with the rest of your team to make his debuffs irresistable.
3. Chimera Clan Boss
Ishiyama has mediocre damage potential for Chimera, but he is a very safe choice due to his high HP and Decrease C.RATE debuff. His 2-turn Fear debuff can also make it much easier to complete the Fear trial against the Ram Form.
