RAM FORM – NEW EFFECT – DUEL
The Ram Form of the New Clan Boss brings a brand new Boss Effect to the table: Duel.
This functions a bit like a combination of Taunt and Provoke. The Boss who starts the Duel must attack their target but they are free to use any skill–they are essentially suffering from a Taunt debuff. The champion who is targetted by the Duel is in a worse situation, as they must attack their Duel enemy (the boss) but are locked into using their default skill–they are essentially suffering from Provoke.
On top of this the Boss who starts the Duel also gains a 50% damage boost against your champion, but your champion does not gain a boost in return. To break free of the Duel you must break the Duel Bar which is equal to 1% of the Boss’s HP. Since Duel is placed by the Ram’s passive on the champion with the lowest Crit Damage, this could make Warmaster essential for many low-damage support champions to be able to break free.
On top of this, champions not under the Duel effect deal 50% less damage to anyone who is in a Duel. You can disable this damage reduction through the Ram Form’s passives using Fear debuffs, and this will be essential to do meaningful damage to the Ram.
RAM FORM – A1 – MONSTROUS STOMP
The A1 of the Ram Form centers on the new Duel debuff. This Duel debuff is placed by the Lock Horns passive on your champion with the lowest Crit Damage at the end of each of the boss’s turns and it cannot be resisted or blocked. Since Duel increases the damage your champion will take by 50%, you will want to make sure they are tanky enough to survive these hits, while also bringing enough damage to break free of the Duel.
With the second hit coming at random it seems almost essential to keep Block Debuffs up all the time to prevent being Stunned. The Stun itself isn’t too bad but the Extra Turn the boss gains if it places a Stun could be lethal.
RAM FORM – A2 – HAMMERTAIL QUAKE
The A2 of the Ram Form looks to heavily punish teams with nasty debuffs. Bringing the Block Debuffs buff can stop the Stun debuff the Ram tries to place, but you will receive a 50% Turn Meter Reduction instead. This is very dangerous in tandem with the A1 since it can give the boss an extra turn if used against low turn meter champions.
The Block Debuff strip followed by Decrease Crit Rate, Decrease Crit Damage, and Decrease Speed debuffs on your team are very punishing to any damage dealers. Cleansers or champions who can place protected Block Debuffs might be crucial here. Bringing a strong affinity damage dealer might also be important if weak hits from the boss will prevent these effects.
RAM FORM – A3 – MAIMING STAMPEDE
With his A3 the Ram Form turns your positive stat buffs into debuffs and deals a powerful single target attack that will likely prioritise the Duel target. On top of this, if he deals more than 20% of your Max HP he will repeat the attack. This is likely to do massive damage to any squishier characters. Shield buffs and Ally Protection (which have no negative versions to be swapped to) might be needed to survive this attack, or significant single target healing/survivability.
RAM FORM – PASSIVE 1 – UNHOLY METAMORPH
The first passive of the Ram Form is the same mystery passive as existed on the Viper Form. What is this Ultimate Form and how does it trigger? Are we fighting multiple forms at once? Stay tuned here on Hellhades.com as more information is revealed over the coming days.
RAM FORM – PASSIVE 2 – LOCK HORNS
The second passive of the Ram Form places a large emphasis on Fear and True Fear debuffs which have never affected any bosses before. True Fear is likely to be much more powerful here since it puts missed skills on cooldown whereas Fear does not.
Duel is placed every 5 Ram Form turns on your champion with the lowest Crit Damage and it cannot be blocked or resisted. Since both Fear and True Fear debuffs remove the 50% damage reduction effect from Duel, they are going to be essential debuffs to enable your damage dealers.
RAM FORM – PASSIVE 3 – UNBREAKABLE FOCUS
The 50% Ignore Defence when your champions are under Taunt, Veil or Perfect Veil is a bit strange. These buffs have no particular intertaction with the New Clan Boss so far, so it seems this passive is designed to simply eliminate those champions from your teams arbitrarily.
The damage reflection from the Ram Form looks to especially brutal since Duel is placed only on your champion with the lowest Crit Damage.
RAM FORM – PASSIVE 4 – ALMIGHTY RAM
The final Ram Form passive is identical to the Viper Form‘s one, bringing consistent limitations to effects which scale off Max HP.
So… as of now…
