Fusion Guide: Gaius the Gleeful
Gleefully swiping his sickles through the fields of Teleria, Gaius joins the Knight Revenant Faction as a reward from the Easter 2022 Fragment Fusion Collection Event.
Gaius very much loves to play with Bombs and his tinkering and technological advancements have generated a unique and interesting kit. His A2 will place 2 bombs for 2 turns and also place a Sleep debuff on all enemies. Sleep is generally not ideal as any form of damage (including HP Burn) can wake a champion. The idea here is you utilise the sleep to ensure the 2 turn bombs can land. This may be risky in an Arena environment where masteries and artifact sets may be an issue allowing time for champions such as Wythir the Crowned or Raglin to fully cleanse the bombs away. His A3 has been designed to trigger all bombs and then kill anyone with Unkillable buff therefore being a direct counter to champions like Leorius or Skullcrown and to Swift Parry artifact sets.
The unique part of the kit is his passive. He will have a chance to place a bomb on each hit that detonates after 2 turns and if he dies all bombs on all enemies will detonate. This opens the door for some creative team compositions with both difficult to kill Gaius builds or super glass cannon builds.
With the limited number of good bomb champions, Gaius is one that is definitely worth picking up in our opinion.
Skills:
Chuckling Sickles
Attacks 1 enemy 2 times. Grants an Extra Turn if this attack kills an enemy.
Jester’s Remedy – 4 Turn Cooldown
Attacks all enemies. Has 75% chance of placing [Sleep] debuff on each enemy for 1 turn. Also has a 75% chance of placing 2 [Bomb] debuffs on each enemy that detonate after 2 turns.
Explosive Wit – 5 Turn Cooldown
Attacks 1 enemy 2 times. The first hit instantly detonated all [Bomb] debuffs on the target. The second hit will ignore all [Unkillable] buffs on the target.
Mad Bomber [P]
When attacked, has a 30% chance of placing [Bomb] debuff on the a ttacker that detonates after 2 turns. Occurs once per hit.
Instantly detonates all [Bomb] debuffs on all enemies whenever this Champion is killed.
Aura
Increases Ally ATK in all Battles by 25%
Is Gaius worth going for?
We would always recommend going for each and every Fusion, if you’re able to – Gaius is no different here, he can provide healing to your team, and in some situations down the line could come very handy, especially in certain arena teams, with Plarium continuing to push their dreams of bombs being viable.
As this is a Fragment Fusion, there are 115 available fragments WITHOUT winning any tournaments, so pick and choose what events suit you best as you can skip up to 15 fragments and still achieve the fusion!
Adjoining Events:
Every fusion we deal with 2 summoning events, and recently Plarium has been adding Super Raids to the matching dungeons to speed up our farm. Here’s what we know so far:

Day 1:
New Events:
Fire Knight Tournament – 5 Fragments – 2250 Points
Artifact Enhancement Event – 5 Fragments – 3300 Points
For the Fire Knight Tournament, this lines up nicely with the Dungeon Divers Event that will start tomorrow – 2250 points will take around 140 runs of level 20+ based on the worst possible drop rates of only 5* Rare gear.
This will be a great option to double-dip your rewards and use your energy wisely!
To get the Enhancement Event’s Fragments, you’ll require 3300 points in the artifact enhancement event – there are some great methods for doing this easily, to save as much silver as possible.
1. If you pre-rolled your gear to level 7/11/15 before the event, you can go ahead and burn through your silver taking these up by 1 level each to gain quick easy points.
2. The other really good option for these events is doing a good old gear clear-out, rolling things that you might want to keep up to see how the stats play out, selling things that you won’t want to keep, a great guide for this is here.
Day 2:
New Events:
Dungeon Divers Event – 10 Fragments – 4450 Points
Champion Training Event – 15 Fragments – 3500/9350 Points
When it comes to Dungeon Divers Events, these points are rather extreme! However, it’s not as simple as that because we are getting DOUBLE the Fragments we usually get from a standard Dungeon Divers Event during a fusion, so this may feel intense, but actually, it’s fairly obtainable and should be pushed for – especially as this ties in with yesterdays Fire Knight Tournament, and today’s Champion Training Event.
The point requirement for the Training Event is quite high, but nothing we’ve not seen before in a Fusion.
Make sure you are also levelling your chickens BEFORE feeding them to get the extra points, you can do this easily by just throwing a few brews into the 4*/5* chickens before you use them as food, it will really help you gain your points to make this doable.
Take this time to level up all of your food and 6 stars some of the champions you’ve wanted to for a while!
Day 4:
New Events:
Spider Tournament – 5 Fragments – 2250 Points
Classic Arena Takedown – 5 Fragments – 360 Points
Summon Rush – 20 Fragments – 1750/3500 Points
Today is a big day for events! 3 new events starting
For the Spider Tournament, this lines up nicely with the Dungeon Divers Event that is currently active – 2250 points will take around 140 runs of level 20+ based on the worst possible drop rates of only 5* Rare gear.
As for the arena tournament… As always make sure to use all of your daily battles, this event is active for 3 days which should be more than enough time to get you the required points if you are efficient in using your tokens, ensuring you’re picking fights you know you can win!
The Summon Rush as always, will be a game of how many shards do you have? To earn the fragments you will need to accumulate 3,500 points, this lines up with the x10 Summon Event for Champions some of the best Champions in the game:
(1) On Friday, April 22nd, we’re planning to launch x10 event to summon the following Champions from Ancient Shards
– Duchess Lilitu
– Rotos the Lost Groom
– Prince Kymar
(2) On Saturday, April 23rd, we’re planning to launch x10 event to summon the next Champions from the Sacred Shards
– Wythir the Crowned
– Bad-el-Kazar
– Mountain King
(3) And on Sunday, April 24th, we’re planning to launch x10 event to summon the following Champions from Void Shards
– Siphi the Lost Bride
– Warlord
– Hegemon
The point requirement for this is rather high, but remember you may not need to pull depending on how many Fragments you’re currently at, as there is more than 100 Fragments available.
Day 7:
New Events:
Artifact Enhancement Event – 5 Fragments – 3500 Points
To get this event’s Fragments, you’ll require 3500 points in the artifact enhancement event – there are some great methods for doing this easily, to save as much silver as possible. We do advise waiting for this till tomorrow, to help your Clan out in Clan vs Clan, as upgrading equipment can give a LOT of points!
Day 8:
New Events:
Champion Training Tournament – 5 Fragments – 5150 Points
Dragon Tournament – 5 Fragments – 2250 Points
Dungeon Divers Event – 5 Fragments – 2400 Points
Once again we’ve got a triple event day! I hope you all enjoyed your relaxing weekend break from events because now it’s time to get busy again, on top of yesterday’s enhancement event and the currently active Clan vs Clan.
The Dragon Tournament, this lines up nicely with Clan vs Clan – 2250 points will take around 140 runs of level 20+ based on the worst possible drop rates of only 5* Rare gear.
This Dungeon Diver event very conveniently lines up with the Clan vs Clan Tournament and the Dragon Tournament too – Along with the Champion Training Tournament, so all in all it’s a very easy event to complete as there are lots of chances to double-dip while doing other activities you need to do.
To get the Fragments, this will take 240 5* Rare items, although as your luck improves, the number of runs required will drop significantly.
The point requirement for this Training Tournament is relatively low but still needs pushing for.
Day 10:
New Events:
Classic Arena Takedown – 5 Fragments – 360 Points
For the arena tournament… As always make sure to use all of your daily battles, this event is active for 3 days which should be more than enough time to get you the required points if you are efficient in using your tokens, ensuring you’re picking fights you know you can win! Now is a great opportunity to get an easy pass in these events due to the changes in arena recently allowing us to all use 1 man defensive teams, due to there being a cap on how much rating we can lose each day!
Day 11:
New Events:
Champion Chase Tournament – 15 Fragments – 750/2500 Points
For this, you will need to pull as many shards as you need. You can also do this with mystery shards for 1 point per shard, if you don’t have other shards to use during the event, but remember – champions from the market and campaign will also count towards these points, which can tie in nicely with Champion Training.
This does line up with Ancient 2x Event, so good luck on your pulls if you have saved any!
Remember, if you complete ALL other events, and haven’t skipped any – you can actually avoid this event.
Why is the event calendar blurry?
It’s a low-resolution preview image. I’m sure they will update it with a higher-res version soon (I hope!)
Look here for better image to save for reference.

even on that URL page dmort provided above i have to zoom in to 200% in the browser to actually read it :-) maybe im just getting old :-D
When are the arbitere missions changing? I thought that was supposed to be in this patch.
I was thinking this exact thing they dangle a carrot in front of us but put it on a very long stick to keep it away.
Then rub salt in the wound by showing the new skin for her everywhere.
The Arbiter missions arn’t as hard anymore with the arena “glitch” and better Silver matchmaking. If you ca get to gold I, there are going to be enough singel person defenses to get to gold IV. I went from Gold I to Gold IV by just farming singel man defenses. So get into Gold I, set a singel man defense and climb to Gold IV for the great hall missions (Yes, after the missions get nerfed you will still need a level 10 great hall bonus)!
Also, why are you complaining about it in the fusion calender? lol
You should be pleased next login :)
This is what I’ve been waiting for as well.
Is the 3v3 tournament that’s about to start *not* part of the Gaius event?
Yes. (IMHO) Tag arena tournament is not a part of this fusion.
How can I know if I can still afford not to pursue an event or a tournament ? Is there a calculator somewhere in which I can put my current number of fragment so that it tells me if I’ll be able to achieve the fusion ?
They have a guide.
https://hellhades.com/be-prepared-for-the-next-fusion-event/
On a pure per energy basis, what is the most efficient stage to run for dungeon divers? I am 100% FTP but always relatively easily complete the training and different dungeon stage events that are going concurrently, but I always end up going right down to the wire trying to finish the dungeon divers.
From my understanding its LVL 20 on any dungeon. Which ever one you are most likely to win every battle on. On lvl 20 the rewards go from 4*to 6* to 5*to 6*
Seems like we can skip Champ chase, if we do all else…
Thats my plan
Any chance you can test gaius with mithrala, and show how they petrification might work with bombs ? or if there is a synergy between them
