Odin Spotlight – Raid: Shadow Legends

Odin Faefather is looking to be the strongest champion added during the Asgard Divide Event in Raid: Shadow Legends. Unfortunately, as the only Void Legendary champion of the four, this also means he is going to be the hardest to obtain.

The first event where Odin is available was during a special 10X Event overlapping a 2X Void Shard event. Note that Odin is not available from void shards outside of this events, though that might change in the future.

Odin is now returning for a second time as the top reward of a champion chase tournament during the Faehammer Titan Event.

We are also expecting Odin to show up as the headline champion of a Summon Pool event at an unknown time during the Asgard Divide event.

If you are lucky enough to obtain him, in this guide we will be breaking down the key facts you need to know to make the most of him!

ODIN OVERVIEW

If you want to get a taste for what Odin can do, you simply have to fight him in the Event Dungeon that is part of the Asgard Divide: the boss has the exact same abilities as the champion, paired with typical boss passives to make him a boss level threat.

One of the first things you will notice about Odin is that he is the first champion in the game to bring the Berserk debuff with his A1 attack. This new debuff both increases the damage done AND the damage taken by whoever has it, making it a potent double-edged sword. Since Odin cannot place this debuff on bosses, however, it will be fairly limited in use. Try to target tanky reviver champions like Duchess Lilitu or Siphi the Lost Bride to make them easier to kill—boosting their damage in return is no threat!

Odin’s A2 is remarkably powerful. This move will remove all buffs from all enemies, then place Decrease Defence debuffs for 2 turns and Stun debuffs for 1 turn on them. With a short 3-turn cooldown this makes it an incredible control move against any enemies that are vulnerable to these debuffs. Watch out for enemies with very high resistance or for enemies who have protected buffs (usually from 6- or 9-piece protection set). Stoneskin will be the biggest barrier in arena, since stoneskin has a 50% chance to prevent removal.

Odin’s A3 ability is very unique as well. This powerful single target attack steals all the enemy’s buffs, scales off their ATK, HP, or DEF (depending on what type of enemy they are) and ignores 100% defence. To increase the power of this move you will want to build Odin with 100% crit rate and try to build him with as much crit damage as possible. Against late game bosses, this will likely hit the 10% enemy Max HP Damage cap even without building any damage stats on Odin. If you kill an enemy, it will even revive one of your dead teammates.

Odin’s passive has the potential to win fights as well. Every 9 turns Odin will gain Block Damage and then spread all his buffs to his team. This is extremely powerful when paired with his ability to steal buffs with his A3. Note that these aren’t every 9 turns taken by Odin, but every 9 turns taken by all characters in the fight, meaning that this passive will trigger much more often than you might expect.

Finally, Odin has an incredible speed aura for arena. The next best speed aura in the game is a 33% speed aura from the Demonspawn mythical Karnage the Anarch. Odin’s aura is a 40% speed increase which is massive, though it is limited to void champions only. There are no void mythicals in the game yet, which means that many of the best arena champions in the game cannot benefit from this aura, but there are plenty of incredible void legendaries, such as Siphi, Yumeko, Shu-Zhen or Warlord (not to mention Odin himself!) who will thrive with this aura on their team.

HOW TO BUILD ODIN

The key stats to look out for on Odin are:

  1. Accuracy
  2. Speed
  3. Crit Rate
  4. Crit Damage

Accuracy is needed to land Odin’s debuffs and effects; Speed will let Odin quickly rotate through his skills to control the enemy; and Crit Rate and Damage will let him maximise the damage potential of his A3 attack.

The recommended sets for Odin for PvE are:

  1. Feral
  2. Perception
  3. Impulse
  4. Reflex
  5. Speed

Generally, we are looking for sets that will boost Odin’s best stats or reduce his cooldowns.

The recommended sets for Odin for PvP are:

  1. Stoneskin
  2. Pinpoint
  3. Feral
  4. Perception
  5. Swift Parry

Gearing Odin for arena is more complicated, since you will have to deal with stoneskin buffs and the polymorph blessing. Pinpoint and Feral can boost his best stats while providing him with a way to prevent polymorph. Stoneskin is valuable for keeping Odin alive for the first turn of the fight if you might be outsped by the enemy. Swift parry could be a sneaky pick to boost Odin’s speed and crit damage and keep him alive—and perhaps even spread unkillable to your whole team!

BEST BLESSING FOR ODIN

Odin has several strong blessing options depending on your team.

For arena:

  1. Intimidating Presence could be strong if you are building a speed team with Odin, since it pairs well with his incredible speed aura.
  2. Polymorph is always a safe bet, though some enemies might start running pinpoint gear to counter it.
  3. Temporal Chains is a strong option to counter enemy speed teams and cut it with Odin’s buff strip.

For dungeons:

  1. Brimstone is likely the most powerful option to double-down on Odin’s boss nuking capabilities.

In general, Odin is so strong in arena that you should likely favour building him for arena instead of dungeons, since he will perform extremely well in any PvE content regardless.

BEST PLACES TO USE ODIN

Odin’s strongest area will definitely be the arena. With his strong aura and battle-winning moves, he will likely be a strong pick. Warlord and Yumeko will be excellent pairings with him to give you a guaranteed way to counter enemies in stoneskin (i.e. using lockout). Shu-Zhen and Georgid will be another powerful combo that rely on speed and have a way to counter stoneskin. Siphi will be a strong combo as well, though alternatively you could use Odin as your sole reviver and build a more offensive team instead.

Odin will also thrive in any wave-based content where controlling enemies is needed, such as the Cursed City or Doom Tower.

Odin might be a strong option against Amius since he can deal hefty damage to the boss and strip off any buffs he might get.

Finally, there is always the potential for players to discover incredible teams for Odin against the Demon Lord and Hydra or even other bosses due to his passive ability spreading buffs. Stay tuned for any guides on these specific speed tunes if they are developed in the future.
