Raglin + Mercurial Combo in Raid

Every so often, a gear set comes along that doesn’t just improve a champion, it completely redefines them. Mercurial is exactly that kind of set, and when you pair it with Raglin, things get downright ridiculous. We’re not talking about “slightly better survivability” or “nice value in niche comps.” This is a setup that fundamentally changes how fights play out, especially in Arena and Live Arena.

Raglin has always been a strong support, but with Mercurial in play, she jumps straight into top-tier territory. Some might even argue she’s second only to Starsage Galathir in overall impact. Let’s break down why this combo works, what makes it so oppressive, and how it could shape the Arena meta going forward.

Mercurial Explained: Why Total Guard Is So Broken

At first glance, Mercurial looks solid but unassuming. You get speed, resistance, and HP, which are all good stats for a support. But the real magic is Total Guard.

With Mercurial, four pieces grant one stack of Total Guard. Six pieces grant two stacks. Nine pieces grant three stacks and automatically refresh a stack at the start of your turn if you have none.

Total Guard blocks almost all damage and effects. Burns, bombs, and big nukes all get denied. Everything is stopped except for two key counters. The first is multi-hit attacks, which remove a stack per hit. The second is the cooldown increase effects.

And this is where Raglin steps in and breaks the rulebook.

Raglin’s Rework: The Perfect Mercurial Partner

Raglin A2 Nub

Raglin was recently reworked, and the timing could not have been better. She is now immune to cooldown-increasing effects, which means one of the only true counters to Total Guard simply doesn’t work on her.

That alone would be strong, but it gets better.

Raglin brings a single-target revive on a two-turn cooldown. She fills the revived ally’s Turn Meter to 100% and reduces their skill cooldowns by three turns. She also brings a full cleanse, a chunky heal, and valuable buffs, plus a triple hit A1 that manipulates Turn Meter.

So even if your opponent somehow punches through Total Guard with multi hits, Raglin just revives, resets cooldowns, and keeps the whole engine running. It’s relentless.

Building Raglin for Mercurial Success

The dream Mercurial build looks similar to classic Starsage Galathir setups. You want absurd speed, high HP, and strong resistance. That said, fully optimised Mercurial builds take time, especially since Grim Forest rotations are still relatively new.

A more realistic and very effective approach right now is to prioritise high speed first, then stack solid HP, and let Total Guard do the heavy lifting.

Even without perfect resistance, Raglin thrives because she regains Total Guard stacks every turn. She doesn’t need to resist everything. She just needs to keep moving.

Relics like Chrysalid of Rebirth push this even further, giving Raglin a chance to take extra turns when reviving allies. Extra turns mean more heals, more cleanses, more revives, and more Total Guard uptime.

Arena in Practice: Why Opponents Struggle

Once you see Raglin and Mercurial in action, it clicks immediately.

Bomb champions get countered. Burn teams get countered. Single-hit nukers get completely shut down.

Even champions like Embrys, who rely heavily on Necrosis interactions, struggle to function when Total Guard simply blocks the entire mechanic. In multiple Arena and Live Arena matches, Raglin absorbs massive hits. She takes hundreds of thousands of damage, and shrugs it off as if nothing happened.

And when allies do go down, she revives them instantly, resets their cooldowns, and gives them a full Turn Meter. It’s suffocating to play against.

The Counters, And Why They’re Not Enough

Karnage Nub

Mercurial does have weaknesses. Champions like Karnage and Marius, with frequent multi-hit abilities, are genuine threats. Three hits can wipe out three Total Guard stacks in a single move.

But even here, Raglin holds the advantage. She refreshes Total Guard every turn. She can’t be locked out by cooldown increase. She recovers fights instantly with revives.

Unless the enemy can chain multi-hits and finish her off in the same sequence, Raglin simply outlasts them. And in Arena, consistency is king.

Closing Thoughts

Mercurial is already one of the strongest gear sets Raid has introduced, but Raglin takes it to another level. Her immunity to cooldown increase, constant revives, massive heals, and synergy with Total Guard make her one of the most frustrating champions to deal with in Arena right now.

If you’ve got Raglin sitting in the vault, it might be time to dust her off. And if you’re farming Grim Forest, Mercurial should absolutely be on your radar. This combo isn’t just strong. It’s shaping how Arena is played.

What do you think. Is Raglin the new queen of Mercurial, or do you see another champion rising up to challenge her. Let us know in the comments!
