Rhaia the Mourned Champion Spotlight: Is the Event Dungeon Boss Worth Building?
Rhaia the Mourned has arrived as one of RAID: Shadow Legends’ latest Void Legendary champions, and naturally, the big question is simple: does she work better as a champion than she does as an Event Dungeon boss?
After testing her on the test server, the answer looks pretty positive. Rhaia is not completely game-breaking, but she is a seriously strong attack-based nuker with huge damage potential, strong buff interaction, and some nasty Arena tools when built correctly.
What Does Rhaia the Mourned Do?

Rhaia is an attack-based damage dealer who focuses on multi-hit attacks, stealing buffs, ignoring defense, and taking extra turns.
Her main combo comes from her A3 into her A2.
Her A3 is an AoE triple hit that places Increase Attack on herself before attacking. Each hit has a 100% chance to steal a random buff from each enemy, and she gains Turn Meter for every buff stolen.
That is especially useful in the current Mercurial meta, where removing or stealing buffs can make a massive difference.
Then her A2 follows up with a double-hit single-target attack. It places Weaken before attacking, ignores defense, ignores Block Damage, and ignores even more defense based on how many buffs Rhaia has. If she kills the target, she reduces the cooldown of her A3 and places an irresistible, unblockable stun on all enemies.
That is a very scary one-two combo.
Why Her Kit Is So Strong
The best thing about Rhaia is how much pressure she can create when she gets going.
She can:
- Steal enemy buffs
- Gain Turn Meter quickly
- Ignore defense
- Hit through Block Damage
- Stun the enemy team after a kill
- Take extra turns from her A1
- Become unkillable under the right buffs
Her passive is especially interesting. If she has Increase Attack, Block Debuffs, and Veil or Perfect Veil at the same time, she cannot die, and her debuffs and instant effects cannot be resisted.
That is powerful, but it does require setup. You need the right support champions or relics to keep those buffs active.
Arena Performance

In Arena testing, Rhaia showed some massive upside.
Against teams without strong protection, her damage was ridiculous. Her A3 could steal buffs, break through defensive setups, and set her up for a devastating A2. In one test, she hit for over 260,000 damage, which is obviously no joke.
She also performed well into Mercurial teams because of her triple-hit buff stealing. Being able to remove or steal Stone Skin and other key buffs gives her a lot of value.
However, she does have some weaknesses.
Rhaia’s Weaknesses
Rhaia is powerful, but she is not flawless.
Her biggest issues are:
- She is vulnerable to Polymorph
- She can struggle against protected buffs
- She is quite squishy without her passive active
- She needs strong gear to really shine
- Multi-hit attacks can struggle into certain defensive effects
- Her Weaken can actually be a liability because it can trigger Polymorph
That last point is frustrating but important. In the current Arena environment, placing debuffs can be risky, and Rhaia’s A2 includes Weaken before attacking. Sometimes, that helps her damage. Other times, it turns her into a sheep.
Let’s be honest, Polymorph remains one of the most annoying parts of Arena.
Best Build for Rhaia the Mourned

Rhaia wants a high-end damage build with enough Accuracy to steal buffs and land key effects.
A strong build should focus on:
- Attack
- Crit Rate
- Crit Damage
- Speed
- Accuracy
- Ignore Defense
- Buff protection where possible
For gear, Stone Skin plus Lethal worked well in testing. Mercurial could also be interesting if you want to make her harder to control.
For relics, Cat’s Gaze is a strong damage option, but Lens of Intangibility looks especially powerful because it gives Perfect Veil at the start of the round. That helps activate her passive when paired with Block Debuffs and Increase Attack.
Best Teammates for Rhaia
Rhaia works best with champions who can help her stay protected while giving her the buffs she needs.
Good support options include:
- Duchess, for Perfect Veil and team protection
- Freyja, for Block Debuffs and defensive buffs
- Niamhe, for support utility
- Galathir, for premium protection
- Mavara, for Veil and revive support
If you can keep Increase Attack, Block Debuffs, and Veil active, Rhaia becomes much harder to kill and far more reliable.
Final Thoughts
Rhaia the Mourned looks like a very strong champion.
She brings huge damage, buff stealing, Turn Meter gain, Ignore Defense, Block Damage bypassing, and team-wide stun potential. Her passive can make her unkillable with the right setup, which gives her some very exciting Arena potential.
She is not the easiest champion to build, and she does rely on good gear, blessings, and support. But if you can enable her properly, Rhaia can absolutely tear through teams.
Overall, she looks like a powerful Void Legendary who is fun, dangerous, and worth building if you are lucky enough to pull her.
